ISLAMABAD : A prominent leader of the opposition in the Senate of Pakistan, Dr. Shahzad Waseem of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf PTI, called on High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, H.E Mohammad Azhar bin Mazlan at his office.The sides had a warm and productive discussion on matters of mutual interest, reaffirming the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Malaysia and their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
As the visiting Senator is not in the government , the political landscape of Pakistan aslo came under discussion. This is a rare meeting between any opposition leader of Pakistan and any envoy of ASEAN region.
He has served as the advisor to The Chairman PTI on Diplomatic Relations. He was handling External Publicity and International Relations department within the party.He was appointed as Leader of the House for Senate of Pakistan by former Prime Minister Imran Khan.He served as Leader of the House from 4 June 2020 to 20 April 2022.
