Islamabad, 13 April 2019-The EU Delegation issues the following statement in agreement with the EU Heads of Mission present in Pakistan:
“Yesterday, a bomb attack in Quetta claimed the life of 16 people and injured more than 50 in the highly frequented area of Hazar Ganji. Our thoughts go to the victims and their families.
The sustained sectarian violence against the Hazara community, whose members represent half of the victims of today’s attack is of particular concern. The promotion of interfaith harmony must stand among the priorities of the government and all minorities in Pakistan must be provided with full security.
The EU acknowledges the renewed commitment of the Pakistani authorities against terrorism and calls to strengthen their engagement against all forms of terrorism.”
