ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Sohail Ashraf, met with H.E. Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Khazar Farhadov, on Thursday at CDA Headquarters. Newly appointed Chairman warmly welcomed the Ambassador.
H.E. Khazar Farhadov said that Azerbaijan and Pakistan share long-standing cultural and historical ties. He said that Baku and Islamabad have been declared sister cities in 2024.
Ambassador said that experts from Baku are working in collaboration with CDA on the beautification of the city. In this regard, work is underway on the renovation and beautification of Saidpur Village, Melody Food Street and 7th Avenue.
He said that horticulture experts from Baku have extended full support at CDA’s Gardenia Hub Model Nursery. He further added that horticulture experts from Baku are always available to contribute towards making Islamabad more beautiful.
Chairman CDA, Sohail Ashraf, appreciated the beautification efforts carried out by Baku’s horticulture experts at Saidpur Model Village, Melody Market and CDA Model Nursery Gardenia Hub.
Chairman CDA reiterated his commitment to fully benefit from the expertise, capacity and capabilities of Baku’s horticulture experts, while stressing the need to further strengthen bilateral relations and explore new avenues of cooperation. He said that there are excellent opportunities for investment to further enhance cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of exploring new opportunities for cultural exchanges between the two countries. This meeting reflects a shared commitment to building a strong partnership. Chairman CDA also assured his full support in further promoting mutual relations between the two nations.
