Uzbekistan and Pakistan: a new momentum in bilateral dialogueLAHORE : Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan , Alisher Tukhtaev called on former Prime Minister Pakistan Mohammad Nawaz Sharif at his residence in Lahore.
Nawaz Sharif is the constructor of Pakistan’s relations with Central Asian republics including Uzbekistan when the republics secured their independence in 1991 and Nawaz Sharif was the Prime Minister in Pakistan. He is one of the most experienced and respected political leaders in Pakistan’s history.
During the meeting, the sides thoroughly discussed the outcomes of the recent State Visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Pakistan, as well as prospects for further deepening bilateral cooperation.
Particular attention was given to trade and economic relations, industrial cooperation, and the implementation of practical joint projects.
It was emphasized that the agreements reached at the highest level provide a solid and long-term foundation for advancing Uzbekistan–Pakistan relations to a qualitatively new, practical, and results-oriented stage that serves the interests of our peoples.
