CHANGE OF COMMAND AT DGPR PAK NAVY – Rear Admiral Arshad Javed Retired – Naeem Sarwer Assumes Charge

Islamabad; Change is part of life and we have to hand over  our responsibilities after accomplishing our term to new arrivals. Matter of satisfaction is that we complete our tenure with dignity and honor. Director General Public Relations Pakistan Navy Rear Admiral Arshad Javed is retiring from Pakistan Navy  in the same way upon completing 32 years and 4 months Commission Service.

Rear Admiral Naeem Sarwer SI Military has been appointed new DGPR. He will be spokesperson of Pak Navy as well in this position.

Rear Admiral Arshad Javed has shared with press and media friends that ” I am thankful to Allah that I could perform my duties with dignity and honor. All this had been possible due to Allah Subhan-o-Talah’s blessings, prayers of my parents, family and friends, guidance of my seniors and comprehensive support of my colleagues and subordinates. I shall always cherish my association with finest body of officers and men of this Great Service. My special thanks to Department of Hydrography being my parents organization and officers, men & civilians of PR Department, being my last Department from where I am putting off the uniform. My prayers shall always be for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan Navy and for all those who remained associated with the Service.”

Rear Admiral Naeem Sarwar got commissioned in Operations Branch of Pakistan Navy in 1990. The Flag Officer is a graduate of Pakistan Navy War College Lahore, National Defence University Islamabad and has qualified National Defence Course from Indonesia.

The Admiral has an illustrious Service career having vast experience of Command and Staff appointments. By profession, he is an aviator (Helicopter Pilot). His important appointments include Command of an Aviation Squadron, Chief Staff Officer to Commander Pakistan Fleet, Commander Jinnah Naval Base Ormara, Drafting Authority, Director Naval Aviation and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Personnel) at Naval Headquarters Islamabad.

In honour of his meritorious service career, the Flag officer is awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military).

On assuming the appointment of DGPR (Navy), the Admiral will act as official Spokesperson of Pakistan Navy.
