Chinese Ambassador and Prime Minister Pakistan Discuss Progress on Security Issues after Consecutive Terror Attacks in Two Provinces

    ISLAMABAD: 7 March 2025 -Mr. Jiang Zaidong, Ambassador of China has discussed progress on security and counter-terrorism cooperation between both countries in his call on with Prime Minister of Pakistan.

    China along with the other countries that have investments in Pakistan especially in KPK and Balochistan are extremely concerned on the security situation there. The two the worst terrorism hit provinces and the same are main route of CPEC. The most recent attacks have added to the importance of this meeting.

    Friendship is like iron and relations are higher than Himalayas and deeper than oceans but security is security and China is worried for the security of her nationals and national investments both in Pakistan.

    According to issued Press Release , PM Shehbaz conveyed his warm greetings and good wishes to President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. He also congratulated the Chinese leadership and nation, on the successful convening of the “Two Sessions” of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

    The Prime Minister noted with great pleasure that this year marked the tenth anniversary of President Xi Jinping’s historic visit to Pakistan in 2015. In this regard, the Prime Minister issued directions to ensure that this memorable occasion be celebrated in a befitting manner.

    He also renewed his most cordial invitation to President Xi Jinping to undertake a State visit to Pakistan, at his earliest convenience.

    Pak China Joint Statement – Sides Sign Agreements of Cooperation on CPEC, Defense, Security, Science, Technology, Trade, Media

    Prime Minister emphasized upon the need for both sides to continue working together closely, to ensure timely implementation and completion of various initiatives and projects under CPEC.

    Ambassador briefed the Prime Minister on the latest developments on bilateral cooperation. He affirmed that China would continue to extend its full support and cooperation to Pakistan in the efforts for national development.

    Official sources termed the meeting as courtesy call but a courtesy call is  mostly one on one and not like a delegation. Chinese ambassador was accompanied by 4 other members of staff of the embassy. On Pakistani side, Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ms Amna Baloch and SAPM Tariq Fatimi were also present in the meeting.
