Islamabad Police has closed the file of the blind murder of Faheem Sardar in a routine fashion of declaring it a robbery attempt and claimed the culprits have been arrested. The are two but the Police did not share their names neither gave any detail what the robbers took away from the home?
It was a suddenly called press conference in which Minister Interior Talal Ch laid more emphasis on the appreciation of Police than sharing the required information about the case and the culprits. Inspector General Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi and many other high level Police officers were also present but no particular information was shared that gives rise to speculations that the case is still a blind case.
The way this high profile blind murder, they are trying to close, recalls a joke in the same context. Here one can object on sharing a joke in this serious and tragic matter but what to do when the high officials themselves are making jokes. After a theft in a home the Police were confused on how it may have happened.An intelligent hawaldaar volunteered himself to solve the dilemma. He revealed , ” A thief broke into the home. He lifted all precious things. And the theif ran away.”
Minister State for Interior, Talal Ch extraordinarily admired the Police and he was looking like a commoner and not a minister of interior that is incharg ministry of all civil law enforcing agencies in federal government.
IG claimed to have nabbed two robbers after raids on thorough investigation in and around the twin cities. The Police conducted raids in Gujrananwal, Sargodha and Chiniot from where two robbers were arrested who according to IG killed Faheem Sardar in robbery attempt.
IG shared , ” The robbers checked the home first for days and found this is the home where there is no activity most of the time. They broke into house on 25 June where Faheem Sardar was alone. He tried to fight with the robbers but failed. The robbers hit him with iron rod and later tied him with rope. Faheem was tortured with sharp edged weapon to disclose where the valuables were placed.”
Inspector General did not share what were the valuables that the robbers took away. He did not comment weather they took something or not. He said the robbers picked up few things. What few things? No mention. Neither the journalists were allowed to ask questions about it as the minister wrapped up the press conference.
IG said, one robber is already wanted in 25 cases and has been to jail as well. Here it is worth mention that it is common practice of Police to arrest already known criminals in any case and present them as the culprits in fresh cases.
The high officials of Islamabad Police did not bring the robbers in the press conference. No relative of Faheem Sardar was invited to be in the press conference.
Main question in this case was ” Why the police is tight lipped if it is a robbery? as IG himself concluded that it was a robbery.
Second question was and is , ” Why the media did not covered this case? A media that is always desperate to break the news first , was silent on the murder that happened at 12-30 noon and there was not news on TV Channels the whole day and next day.
The officials did not share what the postmortem report of the Poly Clinic tells about the nature of the torture? Something was sent to Lahore for Forensic. What results have been recieved from there?
Ministry of Interior and Islamabad Police should bring the robbers before the media and make the family of Faheem present and express their satisfaction on the investigation and that the cuprits arrested are the real killers. Otherwise, it would be just like pushing the dirt under the carpet only.
