Islamabad : 02 March 2026 – Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 briefed resident heads of diplomatic missions in Islamabad on recent developments in Pakistan – Afghanistan relations and the evolving situation in Iran and the wider Middle East.
He highlighted Pakistan’s sustained restraint and positive engagement with Afghan Taliban regime during the past four years, Afghan regime’s failure to address Pakistan’s legitimate security concerns, and the unprovoked coordinated armed attack by Afghan forces along Pak-Afghan border which compelled Pakistan to undertake measured and precise kinetic actions to counter the menace of terrorism emanating from Afghan soil against Pakistan.
Expressing condolences over the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader of Iran, he reiterated Pakistan’s call for de-escalation, restraint and diplomacy to restore peace and stability in the region.
