ISLAMABAD : Monitoring Desk -Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin has completed his farewell meetings in Islamabad and is leaving for his next assignment. He spent an eventful tenure in Pakistan during which the bilateral relations rose to new hieghts. He has expressed his gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for his pleasant stay and cooperation extended to him in delivering his durities here.

At the final phase he held meetings with Prime Minister of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Shehbaz Sharif on 10 August and was received by President of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Asif Ali Zardari on 20 August.

During the meetings, President of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Shehbaz Sharif highly commended the work of the Embassy, noted the significant results achieved, and particularly highlighted the state visit of H.E. Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to Islamabad in February 2026.

The Pakistani leadership expressed appreciation for the work accomplished and reaffirmed its interest in further expanding and strengthening bilateral cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.

In turn, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the leadership and the people of Pakistan for their support and assistance, which contributed to elevating cooperation between our countries to the level of a strategic partnership.

Ambassador expressed his heart about Pakistan while preparing to say goodbye ;

Over the past five years, we have managed to significantly broaden the agenda of Kazakhstan-Pakistan cooperation. A number of high-level mutual visits have taken place, making an important contribution to strengthening our bilateral ties.

Among the key milestones,

” I would like to particularly highlight the visits of Prime Minister of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Shehbaz Sharif to Astana in 2022 and 2024; the first-ever visit of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr. Olzhas Bektenov to Islamabad in 2024; the first-ever visit of the Speaker of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Yerlan Koshanov, to Islamabad in December 2022; the first-ever visit of Field Marshal H.E. Asim Munir to Astana in April 2025; as well as the first official visit of the Head of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry, H.E. Mr. Murat Nurtleu, to Islamabad in September 2025.”

Today, six Joint Working Groups have been established and are functioning, while the activities of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission and the Joint Business Council have gained significant momentum.

The culmination of our joint efforts was the first state visit since 2003 of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to Islamabad in February 2026.

One of the key outcomes of the visit was the signing of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, which outlined the priority areas for further strengthening and expanding relations between our countries.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all our dear friends in Pakistan and Kazakhstan who have been actively supporting the Embassy’s efforts aimed at fulfilling the objectives set by the leadership of Kazakhstan and Pakistan.

I would also like to express my special gratitude to my brilliant team at the Embassy, who worked tirelessly 24/7 and without whom the successful implementation of our plans would not have been possible.

For me to serve in Pakistan was a great blessing of Allah Almighty. I am deeply grateful to the leadership of Kazakhstan for the great honour of representing the interests of my country in Pakistan. I am confident that relations between our countries have a great future.

Pakistan has become a second home to me.

Even though I am leaving Pakistan, your beautiful country, stunning nature, incredibly hospitable people and friendly environment will stay in my heart forever.
Pakistan is an outstanding and talented nation.

I firmly believe that your remarkable country has tremendous potential and a very promising perspectives. It is not the end, it is just the beginning of a brand-new chapter in our bilateral and regional cooperation. I wish the brotherly people of Pakistan peace, prosperity and progress.

The whole way to the airport I had a lump in my throat, my heart was filled with sadness that I was leaving Pakistan, which had become my second home, and a feeling of gratitude to Allah Almighty for the happiness to serve for the benefit of relations between our brotherly countries.
