Heydar Aliyev Auditorium Established at National University of Science and Technology Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: 26 Dec 2023 – The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Pakistan has established the Heydar Aliyev Auditorium at the National University of Science and Technology, one of the most influential higher education institutions of this country.
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Pakistan opened the “Heydar Aliyev Auditorium” dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people at the National University of Science and Technology.
The event was attended by diplomats, civil society, representatives of think tanks, educationists, enthusiasts and media persons in large number.
Ambassador Khazar Farhadov shared the achievements of Azerbaijani nation that were thanks to the visionary leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. He paid rich tributes to the roll Heydar Aliyev played in the independence and nation building of Azerbaijan.
Heydar Aliyev was born on 10 May 1923 in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. Heydar Aliyev has been working in responsible positions at the Nakhchivan MSR Public Internal Affairs Commission since 1941, and has been sent to work in public security agencies since 1944 Leningrad (present Saint Petersburg) and Moscow cities received special higher education and graduated from the history faculty of Azerbaijan State University in 1957 Heydar Aliyev, who has been working in state security agencies for twenty five years, has been deputy chairman of the State Security Committee under the Soviet Union of Ministers of Azerbaijan since 1964 and has been ranked as a major general.
Heydar Aliyev was elected the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan in the July 1969 plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan and became the head of the Republic.
Heydar Aliyev, who was elected as the first deputy chairman of the Political Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1976, was appointed as the first deputy chairman of the Political Office of the Soviet Union in December 1982 While working in this position, Heydar Aliyev led the most important areas of the USSR economic, social and cultural life.
Heydar Aliyev has been deputy of USSR and Azerbaijan Supreme Soviets for twenty years and worked as the first deputy chairman of the Soviet Union of Ministers of USSR for five years.
In October 1987, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union resigned from the positions held by the political office and personally Secretary General Mikhail Gorbachov as a sign of protest.

Heydar Aliyev made a statement on 20 January 1990 after the bloody tragedy committed by the Soviet troops in Baku, demanded that the organizers and executives of the crime committed against the Azerbaijani people be punished. As a result of the hypocritical policy of the USSR leadership, the Soviet Union left the ranks of Communist Party in July 1991 as a sign of the sharp conflict situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Heydar Aliyev, who returned to Azerbaijan in July 1990, first lived in Baku and then in Nakhchivan, was elected a deputy to the Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan in that year. In 1991-1993, the chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan worked as Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Heydar Aliyev was elected the chairman of the party at the establishment congress held in Nakhchivan, New Azerbaijan Party in 1992
When the threat of civil war occurred in the country and losing independence as a result of the extreme sharpening of the government crisis in June 1993, the Azerbaijani people demanded Haydar Aliyev to be brought to power and invited Heydar Aliyev to Baku, and the leadership of Azerbaijan’s time had to invite Haydar Aliyev to Baku.
Heydar Aliyev was elected chairman of the Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan on 15 June 1993, and on July 24, he began to implement the powers of the President of Azerbaijan by the decision of the National Assembly. Heydar Aliyev was elected President of the Republic of Azerbaijan as a result of the vote held on 3 October 1993.
In the elections held on 11 October 1998 he was again elected the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Haydar Aliyev, who agreed to run his candidacy in the next presidential elections, refused to participate in the elections held on 15 October 2003. National leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev died in the Cleveland Clinic (USA), where he was treated on 12 December 2012 and he was buried in the Honorary Alley in Baku on 15 December.
