ISLAMABAD: 19 Nov 2023 – Foreign Ministry Members & Spouses Association (DIMED) of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Participated in the charity bazaar arranged by Pakistan Foreign Ministry Women Association (PFOWA). The head of delegation recieved the First Lady of Pakistan, Spouse of President Dr Arif Alvi at the stall of TRNC in charity bazaar held by TRNC mission in Pakistan. Chief of Mission Ms Delsad Senol was also present.
The First Lady of Pakistan Begam Samina Alvi took keen interest in the cultural and heritage stall of TRNC. She welcomed warmly the delegation from the Republic. She asked questions about the items placed at the stall. Dr. Oya Ertuğruloğlu expressed her gratitude to the first lady for visiting the stall.

The delegation from TRNC consisted of DIMED President Dr. Oya Ertuğruloğlu, DIMED Board Members Gizem Alpman, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Bahar Öztay, Director of the Promotion Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs . They stayed in Pakistan between18-21 November 2023 and held a number of meetings with Pakistani officials.
Dr Oya Ertuğruloğlu and members of delegation called upon Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, Mr. Syrus Sajjad Qazi and his spouse Ms Shaza Syrus who is President of PWOFA.
Dr. Oya Ertuğruloğlu thanked the President of PWOFA Shaza Syrus for the close attention and hospitality shown in the visit of the delegation and provided information about DIMED and the activities they are doing. In addition, Ertuğruloğlu expressed that she would be very pleased to host PFOWA President and Members in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The delegation also met with Dr. Mehmet Paçacı, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye in Islamabad and his wife Meryem Paçacı. President of Foreign Affairs Members and Spouses Association (DIMED) were invited to dinner held at the Residence of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkiye in honor of Dr. Oya Ertuğruloğlu.
The event, Charity Bazaar by PWOFA is annual activity meant to raise funds for marginalized segments of society. Foreign Missions in Islamabad take part and hold stalls there. They exhibit their culture, heritage, art-crafts and cuisine there. It is popular among the diplomatic community in Islamabad.
TRNC mission and delegation,at the event expressed their culture and cuisine where social relations were established between two brother associations and contributed to the cultural diplomacy and promotional activities between the two states.
