ISLAMABAD : Monitoring Desk – ” Entry of Ukraine to the European Union is the biggest economic deal ” This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Taras Kachka while speaking at the 2nd International Trade Forum held in Kyiv on July 9.
The event brought together representatives of state authorities, business, international partners and the expert community to discuss the implementation of Ukraine’s Export Strategy by 2030, trade development and integration of Ukraine into the single market of the European Union.
Opening the forum, the Deputy Prime Minister said that Ukrainian business has demonstrated the ability to adapt to the unprecedented challenges of a full-scale war and continues to evolve despite the significant destruction of production capacity and logistical constraints.
According to him, the adoption of the Export Strategy of Ukraine until 2030 is an important stage in forming a state policy of supporting exports based on practical business experience and its needs.
As part of the event, Taras Kachka also took part in the panel discussion “Trade Policy of Ukraine in the EU Entry Period”, focused on the development of foreign trade, regulatory changes for business and prospects of integration of the Ukrainian economy into the European economic space.
Taras Kachka announced that European integration is also the biggest economic project for Ukraine.
“We often talk about joining the European Union as a political or geopolitical decision. But for business, joining the EU is the biggest economic deal Ukraine can conclude. The European Union is today our largest trading partner, source of technology, investment and manufacturing cooperation. Membership opens up for Ukrainian companies significantly wider possibilities of integration into European and global value-added chains,” he announced.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, integration into the EU domestic market creates additional opportunities for trade with Member States and broadens access to other international markets through a network of EU trade agreements with countries from different regions of the world.
The 2nd International Trade Forum was organized by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine.
