ISLAMABAD : Monitoring Desk – Turkish search teams have found the black box and cockpit voice recorder of the Falcon 50 jet that crashed in Ankara killing Libya’s Chief of General Staff, Mohammed Al-Haddad and others on board.A 37 years old private jet carrying Libya’s Chief of General Staff, Mohammed Al-Haddad, and several high-ranking officials suspiciously crashed near Haymana, Turkey, while en route from Ankara to Tripoli, resulting in no survivors.
Search and recovery teams are currently working across rugged terrain to retrieve debris and identify victims through DNA testing, while the aircraft’s black boxes have been recovered and sent to France for technical analysis.
A joint Turkish-Libyan investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash, focusing on the sequence of events and the history of the chartered aircraft, as the loss of such a senior military figure has triggered widespread mourning and shock throughout Libya.
Acting Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Salah Al-Namroush appoints Lieutenant General Mohamed Moussa (photo) as Chief of the Ground Forces, succeeding the late Lieutenant General Al-Fitouri Gharibil.
