Islamabad: 10 June 2024 – In a powerful rebuke , the former Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser condemned the Government for its blatant abuse of power and relentless oppression of the PTI workers, leaders and members of the National Assembly.
In a press talk, he lamented that the PTI backed Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan along with four other members of the Parliament, was denied entrance to the ATC Sargodha to attend his case.
The former Speaker questioned whether Punjab was a police state or under a martial law regime where the political rights were trampled with impunity and the PTI workers were not allowed to convene a workers convention.
Asad Qaiser urged the Speaker as the custodians of the House to protect the dignity of the Chair of the Speaker and the rights of the members of Parliament. The SIC/PTI leaders staged a token walk out in protest.
