Political scenario of the capital Islamabad has become extremely volatile while the temperature went very high when Bilawal Bhutto reached and knocking at the doors of D-Chowk and United Opposition submitted No Confidence Move at the parliament signed by 86 members. Leaders of United Opposition held a press conference in which they were confident of their success in number game to bring a change of government through democratic process in the parliament.
Submission of no confidence shows that opposition is sure about its home work and also about the neutrality of the establishment. Or the establishment has given green signal to opposition. Keeping speaker and not filing motion against him tells another story that speaker may also be onboard now in this regard.
PTI forward Group (Tareen + Aleem) announced Minus Buzdar strategy in a press conference in Lahore. Both capitals of Pakistani politics were humming with opposition and forward group activities when Prime Minister invited journalists to share that he will face and defeat the move. He has also called attorney general for consultation on legal matters in the light on on going situation.
Opposition leaders Shahbaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari and Maulana Fazl ur Rehman in press conference were satisfied and confident that they can bring more than 172 members that is simple majority. They did not share the name of the Prime Minister when the move is succeeded. They said we will not leak the name.
Earlier the opposition delegation comprised of members from PMLN, PPP, JUI submitted no confidence move in the speaker secretariat. It is signed by 86 members. Another source shared that the number is 100. No confidence move requires at least 20 % members of the total of 342.
Speaker NA has said that ” I confirm the submission of No Confidence move that is democratic right of opposition. I will do whatever is required in constitution and law.”
Speaker is bound to convene assembly session within 14 days of submission of move. Today is 08 March and after 14 days the day for session is 24 March. This day is one day after 23 March, Pakistan Day and it is right after OIC conference to be held in the capital on 22-23 March 2022.
Prime Minister Imran Khan shared with journalists that we will win the move. He had meetings with many MNAs who had reservations with respect to development of their constituencies. Federal ministers Asad Umar, Shafqat Mehmood, Pervez Khattak and SAPM on Parliamentary affairs Amir Dogar also called on Prime Minister today. Attorney General met with Prime Minister on legal and constitutional options after no confidence.
Over all situation leads towards opinion that next two weeks are very crucial in the shaping of future of Pakistan. Separation of Tareen + Aleem group from PTI and connections with PMLN and others including a possible visit of Aleem Khan to London where Jahangir Tareen and Nawaz Sharif both are present, is possible in couple of days that is enough to reach the conclusion that Imran Khan is going to lose the vote. Opposition leaders are confident of success even without Tareen+Aleem.
