Beijing, 7 January 2026:- Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting today in Beijing with Chinese Interior Minister Wang Xiaohong. Upon arrival at the Ministry of Public Security Headquarters, Minister Wang Xiaohong welcomed Minister Naqvi and his delegation.
During the three-and-a-half-hour long meeting, both sides discussed bilateral relations and joint counter-terrorism initiatives. They held in-depth discussions on counter-terrorism cooperation, police training exchange programmes and expanding collaboration in mutual areas of interest.
Both sides agreed that the Joint Working Group will meet every three months, while the Interior Ministers will meet once a year. The two Interior Ministers emphasised the need for improved coordination to enhance bilateral cooperation.
The Chinese Interior Minister expressed satisfaction with the security measures taken for Chinese citizens and projects in Pakistan and thanked Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his team. He praised Pakistan’s efforts in counter-terrorism and internal security and said that China highly values Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Both leaders agreed to further strengthen rapid response mechanisms against terrorism and crime and also agreed to expand the scope of police training exchange programmes.
Matters pertaining to Islamabad and Beijing sister-city cooperation were also discussed. Both Ministers agreed on a joint strategy to enhance the training and professional capacity of police and security personnel.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasised ensuring exchange of experience and information between the security institutions of both countries through training. He also briefed the Chinese side on the security arrangements undertaken for Chinese nationals and projects.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the security of Chinese nationals and joint development projects is a top priority. Pakistan has taken strong measures at all levels for the security of Chinese nationals and is establishing a special protection unit in Islamabad. He welcomed Chinese assistance in combating cybercrimes and said Pakistan wants to benefit from the expertise of Chinese institutions to strengthen the National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that AI-based Chinese technologies can greatly help Pakistan in counter-terrorism and security challenges. Pakistan and China share an unbreakable partnership that no one can undermine. He said Pakistan is committed to expanding sustainable cooperation to address security challenges and protect shared interests.
China thinking upon Taking Over Security of her Citizens in Pakistan?
Minister Naqvi invited the Chinese Interior Minister to visit Pakistan.He also conveyed best wishes from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for the Chinese President and Prime Minister.
The Chinese Interior Minister invited Mohsin Naqvi to participate in the Global Security Cooperation Forum scheduled in China in September. He said Pakistan and China are strategic partners and expressed great pleasure in welcoming Pakistan’s Interior Minister at the start of 2026. China is ready to enhance cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
A luncheon was hosted in honour of Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the delegation.
Vice Ministers Su Ditong and Yu Xiuhua, Beijing Deputy Mayor and Director General of the Beijing Public Security Bureau Qin Yuanbiao, Director General of the Ministry’s General Office Guo Kan, DG Counter-Terrorism Gao Qiu, and DG International Cooperation Wang Yong were also present.
Federal Interior Secretary Khurram Agha, Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi, DG National Police Academy Muhammad Idrees, DG National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency Syed Khurram Ali, Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and IG Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi also attended the meeting.
China’s Fast-Track Passport & Immigration Model During Beijing Visit
On 08 Jan, Mohsin Naqvi visited the Beijing Public Security Passport Bureau. Director General Sun Yu welcomed the Minister upon his arrival. The Interior Minister observed various sections of the Exit-Entry Administration Bureau and reviewed China’s passport making and immigration system.
Mohsin Naqvi was given a detailed briefing on immigration policies and the complete stages of passport processing—from application to printing. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was also briefed about foreign nationals arriving in China, their stay, and departure procedures.
The Interior Minister was informed about the fast-track passport and immigration process provided through the “One Window” facility. He appreciated the efficient operations of the Exit-Entry Administration Bureau.
The Interior Minister stated that the usefulness, effectiveness, and speed of China’s entry-exit system are commendable. Pakistan has also developed a fast and foolproof passport and immigration system. New security features will be introduced in passports to prevent forgery.
Pakistan’s modern entry-exit control system is also being developed along the lines of the Beijing model. He was informed that once an online application is submitted, a passport is delivered to citizens within 24 hours. The bureau remains open 24/7 for public convenience.
A multilingual guidance system has made complex documentation processes easy and transparent for foreign citizens. Through digital tracking and real-time updates, applicants remain informed about the progress of their cases.

Shanghai Urban Planning Headquarters; Pakistani delegation receives detailed briefing on the city’s master planning, development, and public facilities
On 06 Jan ,Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi visited the Shanghai Urban Planning Headquarters. He was received by Ms. Chen, Head of Shanghai Urban Planning. The Interior Minister was given a comprehensive briefing on Shanghai city’s master planning, development projects, and public amenities.
Mohsin Naqvi was also briefed on Shanghai’s rapid development model that integrates urban growth with modern civic facilities. Through videos and models, the Minister was informed about Shanghai’s development journey and master plan. He also viewed a model of Shanghai’s state-of-the-art stadium.
Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep interest in the system developed under Shanghai Urban Planning, which integrates all information in a modern and centralized manner, and lauded the technology-driven system. He appreciated the initiatives taken to make the city’s management system integrated and foolproof.
The Interior Minister stated that Shanghai is a leading example of rapid urban development and its progress is worthy of emulation for cities around the world. He added that Islamabad is also intended to be developed on the lines of Shanghai, and that immediate measures will be undertaken to benefit from Shanghai’s fast-paced development.
Mohsin Naqvi also recorded his remarks in the visitors’ book.

One-Month Training in Beijing Police College for National Police Academy ASPs
On 08 Jan, Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi visited the Beijing Police College. The Interior Minister inspected various high-tech training sections of the Beijing Police College. He watched an impressive demonstration by the police on how suspects are apprehended using vehicles.
Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the professional skills and excellent training standards of the Beijing Police. He applauded the special vehicle squad for their outstanding performance.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that he was highly impressed by the professional capabilities and top-class training of the vehicle squad.
Interior Minister announced that all ASPs of the National Police Academy will undergo a one-month training program at the Beijing Police College. Cooperation between the National Police Academy and the Beijing Police College will be enhanced. Pakistani police officers will also be equipped with modern professional education and training.
In this regard, an agreement will be signed between the National Police Academy and the Beijing Police College.
The Interior Minister also operated the advanced driving simulator machine. The President of the Beijing Police College briefed Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on high-tech training through simulators and other tools.
Mohsin Naqvi was given a briefing on the use of modern technology to deal with protests, violent incidents, and other forms of crime.
President of Beijing Police College Wu Wei briefed the minister about technology-based education and practical training, informing that the college provides academic education, professional training, and AI-based instruction. The institution comprises 12 faculties with more than 400 faculty members, 50% of whom are PhD holders.
