Pakistan Malaysia to Promote Tourism and Facilitate Visa Procedures | Gov delegation to visit Kuala Lumpur Soon

Islamabad: Malaysian Minister of Home Affairs Saifuddin Nasution Ismail held a one-on-one meeting with Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi at the Ministry of Interior. This was followed by delegation-level talks between the Interior Ministers of Pakistan and Malaysia.
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, prevention of illegal immigration and cybercrime. Cooperation in the areas of coast guards and training programmes was also discussed.
The two Interior Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and decided to establish a Joint Working Group between the two Ministries of Interior to promote institutional cooperation.
‎It was also agreed that a high-level Pakistani delegation would soon visit Malaysia to further advance bilateral ties.
During the meeting, Pakistan and Malaysia agreed to enhance intelligence sharing to counter terrorists and drug traffickers. The two sides also agreed to develop a more effective joint strategy against terrorism, narcotics trafficking and human trafficking.
The meeting also included an agreement to enhance cooperation between the National Police Academy of Pakistan and the Royal Malaysia Police College.
The two sides discussed promoting tourism between Pakistan and Malaysia and facilitating visa procedures.
Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi said that Pakistan also wanted to benefit from Malaysia’s experience in the Coast Guard sector.
Mohsin Naqvi expressed hope that the Malaysian Interior Minister’s visit would prove to be an important milestone in taking relations between the two countries to the next level.
He said Malaysia was one of the fastest-developing Muslim countries and an excellent tourism destination for Pakistanis. He also emphasized that an increase in the work quota for Pakistanis would enable more Pakistani citizens to travel to Malaysia through legal channels.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Federal Secretary Interior, Director General FIA, Inspector General Federal Constabulary, National Coordinator NACTA, Director General Passports, Chief Commissioner and Inspector General Islamabad, and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
