ISLAMABAD: Thailand Ambassador participated in the 3rd Thailand–Pakistan Political Consultations in Islamabad, co-chaired by Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and Ambassador Imran Ahmad Siddiqui, Additional Foreign Secretary for Asia-Pacific of Pakistan.The consultations covered ways to further strengthen Thailand–Pakistan relations in all dimensions, including high-level exchanges, enhancement of bilateral mechanisms, promotion of trade and investment, participation in trade fairs, increased flight connectivity, as well as cooperation in education, security, defence, and combating online fraud.
Both sides also discussed preparations for activities to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026, and exchanged views on regional political and economic developments, cooperation within ASEAN and the United Nations, and expanding collaboration between Thailand and the OIC in science, technology, innovation, and trade.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary also met with Ambassador Nabeel Munir, Acting Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, to discuss strengthening people-to-people relations, with emphasis on exchange of visits, promoting trade and connectivity, Buddhist tourism, and cultural activities between the two countries.
