ISLAMABAD: Chief Adviser to Palestine’s President and Supreme Judge of Palestine Dr Mahmoud Al-Habbash has declared that Pakistan is a true and lasting ally of Palestinians. Reaffirming their unwavering stance, he stated that Palestinians will never abandon their homeland.

He visited Pakistan and held meetings with Pakistani officials including Prime Minister and others and concluded his visit as successful and Pakistan as true friend of Palestianians including Gaza at a press conference held at the embassy in Islamabad.

Speaking at a press conference alongside the Imams of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Ibrahimi Mosque, Dr. Al-Habbash called his visit to Pakistan “historically significant,” noting that it has further strengthened bilateral relations between the two nations and will have long-term impacts.

Dr. Al-Habbash delivered official letters from the Palestinian President to Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister. During meetings with the Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, National Assembly Speaker, and other key figures, he discussed the severity of Israeli aggression and the current situation in Palestine.

He highlighted that Zionist forces aim for complete control over Palestinian land, revealing that over 80% of mosques, churches, and other places of worship have been destroyed, while millions of Palestinians have been displaced from their homes.

Despite these atrocities, he emphasised that the Palestinian people remain firm in their principles and will not retreat from their homeland.

He said he brought a message to the “great and brotherly nation” of Pakistan that the Palestinian people are not alone—they are backed by friends. He appealed to the Pakistani media to amplify the Palestinian cause.

Calling on the wider Muslim world, Dr. Al-Habbash suggested that if each of the world’s two billion Muslims donated just one dollar, $2 billion could be raised to support Palestinian children’s food, education, and medical needs. He urged the Pakistani government to send this aid through an official state channel.

Dr. Al-Habbash thanked the people of Pakistan and all religious and political parties, noting their unity and consistent stance on Palestine despite internal differences.

He also revealed that the United States has barred Palestine from attending a conference on the two-state solution, but maintained that the voice of the Palestinian people cannot be silenced—it will continue to rise and will never die.

He concluded by expressing gratitude to Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and Army Chief, appreciating that Pakistan’s unwavering position on Palestine has never changed. He affirmed that the Palestinian people remain determined and will ultimately achieve their goal.

Pakistan PM vows ‘unwavering support’ for Palestinians, pledges continued aid to Gaza

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday reaffirmed Islamabad’s support for the Palestinians, vowing to raise their cause at every forum and continue sending aid to Gaza. He also presented Sharif with a letter from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

He made the remarks during a meeting with a four-member Palestinian delegation led by Mahmoud Al-Habbash, presidential adviser and supreme judge, who was in Islamabad to attend a religious conference marking the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), according to the Prime Minister’s Office.

“PM reaffirmed the unwavering support of the people of Pakistan to the Palestinian cause and assured the Palestinian side that Pakistan would continue to lend its full support for the brotherly people of Palestine,” the statement said.

“The prime minister reassured the Palestinian delegation that Pakistan would continue to dispatch humanitarian assistance for the people of Gaza.”

On the occasion, Al-Habbash expressed his condolences over the recent floods in Pakistan, which have claimed 905 lives across the country since the beginning of the monsoon in late June.

Pakistan, which does not recognize Israel, has long supported the creation of an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, calling this stance a legal, moral and religious duty.

The Palestinian delegation’s visit comes amid ongoing Israeli strikes in Gaza and growing global criticism over the humanitarian crisis.

Gaza health officials report more than 64,000 deaths since the war began in October 2023, while the United Nations warns of acute food shortages and mass displacement amid the ongoing conflict.

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared Gaza City in famine last month, with hunger spreading since Israel began the blockade of humanitarian assistance in March.

About 514,000 people — nearly a quarter of Gaza’s population — are facing famine, a figure expected to rise to 641,000 by the end of September. It is the first time the IPC has recorded famine outside of Africa.

Dr. Mahmoud Sidqi Abdul Rahman Al-Habbash on Thursday Addressed a conference titled ‘Palestine Wants Peace’, organised by the Pakistan Ulema Council in Islamabad.

He said , Pakistan’s government, people, and religious leadership for their firm support to the Palestinian cause reiterating that the struggle to safeguard Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy city of Jerusalem will continue until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Dr. Habbash described Pakistan as a land of valiant people and devoted lovers of Islam, expressing gratitude to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Pakistan Ulema Council, and the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their solidarity.

He stressed that the bond between Pakistan and Palestine dates back to the early days of Pakistan’s creation, noting that the three sacred mosques – Masjid al-Haram, Masjid al-Nabawi, and Masjid al-Aqsa – are deeply interconnected in Islamic faith. “These are not mere structures; they represent our religion and our belief. Every Muslim is duty-bound to defend them,” he remarked.

Dr. Habbash recalled that the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) ascended to the heavens from Al-Aqsa, and that Jesus (AS) also rose from the same blessed place, underscoring Jerusalem’s unique spiritual significance. “The gates of the heavens open from Al-Aqsa,” he said, emphasizing that protecting the mosque is a collective responsibility of the Muslim Ummah.

He lauded the patience and sacrifices of the people of Gaza, who, despite enduring siege, hunger, and loss, continue to stand resilient. “For over a century, Palestinians have faced the enemy with unwavering resolve. Our men, women, and children are prepared to sacrifice their lives and wealth for Jerusalem,” he declared.

Condemning the U.S. decision to cancel visas of the Palestinian delegation ahead of the September 22 United Nations General Assembly session in New York, Dr. Habbash expressed disappointment but welcomed the participation of Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries. He noted that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud would represent the Palestinian voice at the forum.

“The recognition of Palestine as a state at the United Nations is an honor for the entire Muslim Ummah,” he said, reaffirming that Palestine is a trust from Allah and His Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him), and that no power can strip Muslims of their rights over Jerusalem. Concluding his remarks, Dr. Habbash offered prayers for the unity of Muslims and the freedom of Palestine.
