Prime Minister Pakistan Assures Solution to All Problems Faced by Chinese Companies

    ISLAMABAD: 24 May 2024 – Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that China and Pakistan have long-standing and deep brotherly relations which are getting stronger with time. China is an important partner in the development of Pakistan. Pakistan will stand with China on all fronts. The security and protection of citizens is the first priority of the government.
    He said this in a meeting with a delegation of representatives of Chinese companies in Pakistan  at the Prime Minister’s House on Friday. Ambassador Jiang Ziadong led the delegation and facilitated their meeting with Prime Minister.The Prime Minister assured to solve all the problems of the Chinese companies.
    Shehbaz Sharif said China wants to benefit from the experience in terms of increasing exports, Pakistan is committed to the strategy of increasing agricultural production through the use of innovation and technology in the field of agriculture, the next phase of CPEC.
    For this, we have to give the best technical and technical training to our workforce, Pakistan wants to benefit from the expertise of China’s IT industry for the development of the IT sector, Chinese companies set up electric and hybrid vehicle plants in Pakistan.

    He said that Pakistan has helped China on every front. The Prime Minister said that the security and protection of Chinese citizens is the first priority of the government, all possible steps are being taken to provide foolproof security to Chinese citizens living in Pakistan.
    He said that a comprehensive plan has been prepared in this regard. The Prime Minister encouraged Chinese companies to set up industries in Special Economic Zones under B2B transactions. He invited the Chinese textile industry to establish their industries in Pakistan.
    The Prime Minister said that preparations are being made for CPEC-II, the focus of my upcoming visit to China will be CPEC-II and further development of economic relations between Pakistan and China.
    The Prime Minister said that China is the world’s China is the second largest economy which is a source of great joy and satisfaction for us, the way China lifted 700 million people out of poverty is a beacon for us.He further said that they want to benefit from Chinese experiences in terms of increasing exports.
    The Prime Minister said that China should help Pakistan in the light of its experiences in delivering Pakistan’s exports to China and other countries in the region. The Prime Minister said, Pakistan is an agricultural country, wants to use innovation and technology in the agriculture sector, Pakistan wants to benefit from the expertise of China’s IT industry for the development of the IT sector.

    The Prime Minister informed the delegation that measures are being taken on a priority basis to increase foreign investment in the country, reforms are being made at the government level, tax net is being increased, leakages in the tax system are being eliminated and measures are being taken against electricity theft.The state-owned enterprises are being privatized, which will benefit the national treasury.
    Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal regarding the Pakistan-China JCC. Briefing. He said that the upgradation of Line 1 in Pakistan Railways, realignment of Qarqarakoram Highway, establishment of Special Economic Zones, Gwadar Port and Agriculture Demonstration Zones will be the priority projects of CPEC.
    Representatives of Chinese companies expressed their determination to further expand their business and investment in Pakistan. Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan,  Minister of Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister of Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb,  Minister of Planning Ahsan Iqbal,  Minister of Industry and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain,  Minister of Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Power Minister Owais Ahmed Khan Laghari, Minister for Ports and Shipping Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh, Petroleum Minister Mossadegh Malik, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and relevant senior government officials were also present in the meeting.
