Russian Delegation Visits FUUAST Islamabad to Explore Academic Collaboration

ISLAMABAD: A distinguished delegation from the Russian Federation visited the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology (FUUAST), Islamabad, to discuss potential avenues of academic and cultural collaboration.

The delegation was headed by Mr. Ruslan Prokhorov, Director of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture and Vice Consul General of the Russian Federation in Karachi. He was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Natalia Zhadvotes, Professor Roman Prozov from the Ural State Pedagogical University, Yekaterinburg, Mr. Gleb Shubin, Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Islamabad, and Ms. Ekaterina, a Russian language instructor.

During the meeting with Dr. Saba Bashir, Incharge Campus, FUUAST Islamabad, the two sides discussed key areas of cooperation, including:

Introduction of Russian Language Classes at the Islamabad Campus

Launch of Student and Faculty Exchange Programs

Access to Russian Government Scholarships for Pakistani students

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Faisal Jevaid, Head of the Department of International Relations and Mass Communication, and Mr. Aleem Ch., Additional Registrar, who expressed keen interest in strengthening academic linkages between Pakistan and Russia.

Following the meeting, the delegation conducted an awareness session for students on “How to Get the Russian Government Scholarship.” The informative session provided valuable guidance on scholarship opportunities and studying in Russia.

The visit marks an important step toward enhancing educational and cultural ties, paving the way for future collaboration between FUUAST and Russian universities.
