Russia launched a large-scale drone and missile attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region overnight on March 14. At least four people were killed and fifteen others injured.
One of the main targets was Ukraine’s energy infrastructure — part of Russia’s ongoing strategy to leave civilians in the dark.
In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Russian strikes injured four civilians, including two children. In total, Russia launched 480 kamikaze drones and 29 missiles, including crusie missiles, hypersonic and ballistic missiles at Ukraine.
Ukraine forces, few days ago had pushed Russian troops back up to 12 kilometers, liberating more than 400 square kilometers in the Dnipro region, according to Ukrainian military officials and an assessment by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi noted that in February Ukraine liberated more territory than Russian forces managed to capture during the same period.
Ukraine’s managed to seize the initiative on parts of the front dksrupting Russia’s preparations for a planned spring offensive.
On 11 March, Ukraine hit the Kremniy El microelectronics plant in Bryansk, a key supplier of components for Russia’s missiles, air-defense systems, and military electronics.
The strike could significantly disrupt Russia’s production of high-tech weapons used in the war against Ukraine.
Every destroyed component factory means fewer weapons for Russia’s war machine.
