Nadia Sher Ali, former MPA and Parliamentary Secretary of Interior and Tribal Affairs of KPK Assembly and other speakers have said that the Pakistan Army is the guarantor of our pride and the geographical and ideological defense of our beloved country. The sanctity of martyrs of the the motherland is above all political affiliations whatsoever.
They expressed these views while addressing a seminar ” Our Pakistan” held to highlight the necessity of national solidarity in the present atmosphere of political polarization that has now started affecting the security forces and even the martyrs of the homeland. The seminar was organized in collaboration with Urdu News Network and Peace Forum Pakistan at the National Press Club Islamabad.
Other speakers included President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Afzal Butt, Editor Pakistan in the World, Daily Azkaar, Member Standing Committee Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors Mr. Tazeen Akhtar, Professor NUML University Dr. Saeed Tayyab, Secretary National Press Club NPC Khalil Raja, Secretary Finance NPC Ms Nayyer Ali, President Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists Abid Abbasi, President All Pakistan Private Schools Association Dr Afzal Babar, PMLN AJK leader Mr. Naseebullah GurdiziChairman Interfaith Forum Mr. Asif Khurshid.
Editor Tazeen Akhtar and Mr. Burhan Raja offered Fatiha for the martyrs. A large number of journalists attended the event to express their solidarity with Pakistan Military Forces and the martyrs.
Nadia Sher Ali in her keynote address said, “May 9 events are of momentous concern that the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country and the nation cannot be disputed. No sane mind can support attacks on the military offices, installations, martyrs memorials should be condemned.
The speakers said that our young generation has been deliberately brainwashed for some time and they were brought to this path which resulted in the shape of unbearable acts by the workers of a political party. It is not wise to throw your country into fire. The beauty of democracy is that it should be in politics and ideas, but there should not be disagreement with our country and land, we should value this free country because no matter what religion or party you belong to, you are Pakistani and this country is yours. Yes, the martyrs are our own sons and brothers, as a nation we should condemn such incidents and remember the sacrifices of the martyrs and learn from the mistakes of the past.
Dr. Saeed Tayyeb criticized the misuse of Riyaast e Madina slogan by Imran Khan. He said that the Prophet peace be upon him and Allah Almighty forbade calling names of the others. Here the so called torch bearer of Riyaast e Madina is always calling bad names of his opponents. The Prophet PBUH had to agree with the Jews due to certain circumstances and he respected the agreement. Here Mr. Imran Khan is so stubborn not to even shake hand with the leaders of other parties who are all Muslims.
On this, Mr. Tazeen Akhtar shared that it was not Riyaast e Madina but actually it is like Riyaast e Kameena.
Mr. Tazeen Akhtar noted, ” We have to see where this party was being supported from during the sit inn of 2014 that ended with the martyrdom of 150 children and teaching staff at APS? The flags were hoisting from the big homes of Bahria Towns and Defense Housing Authorities. Even in these days, who are actively raising voice for that party? They are ex-servicemen. Therefore, we need to correct ourselves as well.”
He added, ” Religious scholars have been assassinated in this country. Masjids and Imambargahs have been destroyed. Why the society did not react to such highly objectionable acts? Every official would say only that no Muslim can do this. Similarly no Pakistani can demolish the memorials of the martyrs. Mostly the Afghanis were involved in such acts. Who allowed Afghanis to enter into Pakistan, get Pakistani IDs and disturb our peace?”
Tazeen Akhtar said, ” The blood of the children of APS Peshawer could not wake us up. How the terrorists crossed three four layers of security from the city into cant and into APS? Why a single person succeeded in killing dozens of namazis in the masjid of Police line Peshawer? Why he could not be checked? Both national tragedies prove that the terrorists have their supporters inside our ranks and files.”
“We still are not diagnosing the disease rightly. We can not treat the ailment this way. We have to first acknowledge our own faults and wrongdoings and correct them, Tazeen Akhtar concluded.
