Former Pakistani ambassadors and media persons have admired the cultural richness of Viet Nam and emphasized to enhance cultural ties between Viet Nam and Pakistan. They said that both nations have many things common and our living styles are almost the same. Tea and Coffee are worth mentioning in the common things between the two countries. Viet Nami people are as fond of tea coffee as Pakistanis are. They noted this in the celebration of national day of Viet Nam in Islamabad on 11 Sep 2023.
Ambassador Mr. Nguyen Tien Phong and spouse Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga hosted the Viet Nam’s tea and culture show at the new building of the Embassy in F-8/1 sector. The show was part of the celebration of the 78th anniversary of national day of the Social Republic of Viet Nam.
Mr. Phong shared the details of the history of the national day with reference to the President Vo Van Thuong and Spouse who inaugurated the celebrations by hosting a ceremony marking the 78th National Day of Vietnam (September 2,1945 – 2023) in Hanoi.
In his speech, the President noted that in August 1945, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, millions of Vietnamese people rallied as one to carry out the General Uprising, overthrowing the yoke of feudal and colonial reigns and reclaiming leadership for the people.
“The victory of the 1945 August Revolution is one of the most glorious chapters in the history of Vietnam. It underscores the remarkable strength of the great national unity, and ushered in a quantum leap for the Vietnamese nation – an era of national independence aligned with socialism. The people of Vietnam were able to escape subjugation and retake mastery over their country and their own fate,” the President said.
President Thuong also recalled the day of September 2, 1945 when President Ho Chi Minh solemnly read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square, proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
President Ho Chi Minh announced to the world that: “Vietnam has the right to enjoy its freedom and independence, and it has, in fact, become a free and independent country. The entire people of Vietnam are determined to mobilize all their physical and mental strength, to sacrifice their lives and properties to safeguard the said freedom and independence.”
According to President Thuong, since the Revolutionary Autumn of 1945, in the spirit of “Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom,” the Vietnamese nation fought valiantly through countless arduous wars, with millions of this land’s outstanding individuals having laid down their lives for national liberation and unification, and for the building and protection of their Fatherland.
Ambassador Mr. Nguyen Tien Phong continued the celebrations in Pakistan by giving interviews to the press and hosting the tea and cultural show at the embassy with the friends of Viet Nam. The Ambassador, staff and spouses were dressed in traditional outfits of red and yellow colors attracting the attention of the guests.
The pots and the stove cum lamp used in the process were another attraction for the audience. They were earth made but there finishing was more sophisticated and fascinating than the clay pots made in Pakistan.
