The leader (Ameer) of Religious/Political party Jamiat Ulama e Islam JUI , Maulana Fazl ur Rehman MNA has said that the world wants us to block China’s path, and America wants us to invite investment here in these tribal mountains. And who had gone to invite them? In the Oval Office in America, did I present samples of the minerals of our mountains to President Trump?
He was addressing to a rally in the downtown of Islamabad. He is criticizing the establishment for last weeks while the government has issued him notices on some precious properties that are alleged to belong to him but neither registered nor showed in his assets.
Maulana said , You present the samples, you are tempting them, you have a dealing among yourselves, put these things before the nation.We are not against anyone’s investment. It is also wrong to block the path of Chinese investment. We are not against American investment either. We are not against investment by multinational companies either. But there must be transparency in the matter, there must be transparency in the agreements, all conditions must be placed before the nation.”
He questioned the decision makers, “On what conditions the agreement was made, the profit of our country must be determined, their profit must be determined, the profit of the local population must be determined.”
Secretly… Now they say that if it was not about terrorism, then the emergency should have been only in FATA, why did it happen in the lower districts? Now I also have to say something, what to do… These are smuggling routes, that is why there is emergency there. There will be many tribal youth here whose areas have curfew two days a week, is there not two days? So for five days there is no terrorism there? For five days the terrorists go somewhere, hide in caves, and come out only for two days, and then you are conducting operations against them?
So why is this curfew imposed? We are told that terrorists are coming, stay locked in your homes, do not come out, we are fighting. Then it turns out that trucks are passing from there.We have no objection to the agreement, nor to anyone’s investment. If goods are coming out from here, they should come through a legal route.
Maulana said, We have closed the legal routes, we have closure with Afghanistan, so goods are coming through theft routes. If our revenue increases, it is because of tax, there is duty on it, pay it, the country runs on it.Now if we, while being rulers, carry out such actions that God knows what theft routes you have made for your own profit, and you do not care about the national treasury, you do not care about the people.We are fighting the war for the rights of the nation.
Your eyes are on Gwadar, you have decided to attach Gwadar to the Federation, which is the right of Balochistan. The coastal area which is the right of Balochistan, your eyes are on it, how to bring the coastal area towards the Federation, we are fighting their war.
In Sindh province there are islands, whose profit belongs to the people of Sindh, you are occupying them and bringing them under federal control. Obviously, when once constitutionally all these things have been declared the right of the people of the provinces, will you occupy them in this way? Maulana Fazl ur Rehman raised questions.
