Collective punishment of Palestinian people in all the occupied Palestinian territories constitutes war-crime and crime against humanity by Israel. Israeli officials should be held responsible for their crimes.”

MESSAGE BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE, HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT RECEP TAYYİP ERDOĞAN, ON THE OCCASION OF “29 OCTOBER REPUBLIC DAY”
“Another important aspect is the unhindered flow of humanitarian assistance into Gaza. We are all aware that 2,5 million people in Gaza is deprived of basic human needs, food, water, electricity and fuel. So far, Türkiye has sent 10 aircraft loads of humanitarian aid, approximately carrying 215 tones and a large vessel arrived in Egypt, having on board 50 containers full of field hospitals, medical equipment/medicine and other assistance materials, Statement adds.
Türkiye will continue its humanitarian efforts and assistance to Gaza by any means. However, if such assistance does not go into Gaza, they are useless. Blockading the humanitarian assistance, direly needed in Gaza, is inhuman. Israel should allow all humanitarian assistance to go in Gaza immediately.
To end this hostility and misery, the Israeli-Palestinian problem should be settled once and for all. We firmly believe that on two-state vision, Israel and Palestine living in secure and pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the capital of independent, sovereign and geographically contiguous State of Palestine.
The lasting peace is the key for the resolution of this conflict.
Türkiye has been vocal advocate of the rights and safety of the Palestinian people since the beginning of this crisis, at all international platforms including UN, OIC, ECO and Organization of Turkic States.
Since the establishment of the Republic, Türkiye has been pursuing a policy for secure, stable and prosperous region. The motto of “Peace at home, peace abroad” will continue to shape our foreign policy objectives. This way of thinking is also appropriate for the conflict between Palestine-Israel. We believe that this conflict should be resolved in accordance with the international law and with respect to the rights of Palestinian people.
