Sardar Tanvir Ilyas Khan is among few Pakistanis who are asset for this poor country that has been looted by all and no one has spared it. Tanvir brought investment of Billions of Dollars in Pakistan when the country was badly hit by the terrorism. Bomb blasts, Suicide blasts, attacks on Army, Police and civilians had become a routine matter and no one was ready to invest or trade with Pakistan. Centaurus Mall is the landmark of Islamabad the capital city as well as landmark of the patriotism of Sardar Tanvir Ilyas and family.
People mostly know Sardar Tanvir Ilyas as just a business tycoon, international investor turned politician but he is a learned person as well with deep insight into the history of Islam, Indo Pak, Pakistan Movement and certainly Liberation Movement of Jammu & Kashmir. He has good knowledge of religion and Quran. He knows the dates of the historical days and events. The facts and figures about the economy of country and Azad Kashmir are on his finger tips. This is a fact and not flattery as anyone can sit with him, talk, listen and the one will conclude the same.
When he speaks, it seems the books of history, current affairs and economics are opening leaf by leaf. His contribution to the economy of the country, his knowledge about how to put the things right and his strong determination to do more and more for his country forced the decision makers to entrust him the responsibilities of Chairman Punjab Board of Investment and then Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.
Tanvir hails from Poonch region that offered thousands of sacrifices of lives for the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir. His grand father was among 26 Kashmiris who were martyred in the fort of Bagh during the war for Kashmir. Poonch, his native region and constituency was the territory where in Tararkhal the first government of Azad Jammu Kashmir was established and Sardar Ibrahim Khan was elected as first President.
This Sardar Tanvir Ilyas Khan was ousted from the government of Azad Kashmir abruptly soon after no trust move against Prime Minister Imran Khan succeeded in Pakistan. How the no trust was managed and materialized is a story that every one knows very well. Tanvir was in PTI at that time and he was running AJK government very well. Tanvir was hit in the same manner as was targeted Imran Khan.
The tradition in Pakistani politics including AJK has been positive in a sense that the government in AJK was never disturbed if the government of same party was toppled in Islamabad. But this tradition was set aside for the first time only to dismantle Tanvir Gov in AJK by hook or by crook. The speaker of the legislature Anwar ul Haqq led the operation Minus Tanvir occupying the seat vacated by Tanvir. The operation did not stop here. Tanvir was deprived of the membership of the legislature by a disputed high court order only to eliminate any chance of return of Tanvir to PM office.
And the sane minds wonder what the operators earned after creating all this mess in the base camp of liberation movement? PM Anwar ul Haqq is failed to form the government in proper manner in last many months. He is Prime Minister and he has ministers but the ministers have no portfolio. What is this nonsense by the way? This is what they created chaos in AJK for? This is first time in AJK and Pakistan and also in the world history that PM is there, ministers are there, all are enjoying perks and privileges for many months but no one has anything to do.
On 25 June 2023, the oath was taken by 27 Ministers out of 48 member legislature. It means all gov members are ministers with responsibility. Interestingly 8 of them are from PPP , the champion of public rights and democracy but PPP is silent on what is happening in AJK. The names of the ministers are Sardar Hussain Khan, Amir Abdul Ghaffar Lone, Mir Akbar Khan, Deewan Ali Chughtai, Abdul Waheed, Chaudhry Arshad Hussain, Muhammad Ahmed Raza Qadri, Chaudhry Muhammad Rasheed, Abdul Majid Khan, Raja Muhammad Siddique, Chaudhry Muhammad Akbar Ibrahim, Javed Iqbal Budhanavi, Bazil Naqvi, Sardar Javed Ayub, Amir Altaf, Azhar Sadiq, Nisar Ansar, Chaudhry Akhlaq, Akmal Sargala, Zafar Iqbal Malik, Faheem Akhtar, Chaudhry Yasir Sultan, Javed Butt, Asim Sharif, Chaudhry Amir Yaseen, Qasim Majeed and Ziaul Qamar. These ministers should resign or refuse to take salaries and privileges until they are not allotted with the responsibilities.
The proud Prime Minister of Base of Freedom Movement sooth his ministers and accomplices on the pretexts that have nothing to do with the reality. He is diverting the anger and anguish towards Rawapindi and Abpara as if they are responsible for all the mess. They are not allowing him to allot portfolios and they are responsible for not letting him do anything to correct the things.
Someone should ask PM AJK , you have arrested and tortured the teachers , you can put 80 teachers into a lockup of 15 persons capacity only, you can put them behind the bars and you do not, spare the women teachers even, what more you need from the center of the power? You can do anything with anyone and no one can hold you accountable , what else you want by the way? Also, those who brought him in a highly objectionable way should review and return to what they have done in AJK.
The story of sabotage does not ends here. AJK is observing an uprising against the center in shape of agitation on inflated electricity bills. It is more than mutiny. At some points, the agitators gave the call for civil disobedience as well. This is what has been achieved ousting Tanvir Ilyas and bringing Anwar ul Haqq?
Sardar Tanvir Ilyas being a hardcore Pakistani from the core of his heart, stopped the waive of subversion by holding a big rally in Rawalakot on 19th July with a new slogan “Hum Han Pakistan” – “We are Pakistan”. This was new idea that deserves attention of the decision makers. Earlier the slogans were “Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan” etc. But Tanvir’s rally made it clear to all inside and outside AJK that Kashmir is itself Pakistan. This rally was no trust on the present weird setup of AJK. This rally was the no trust on the decisions of the decision makers who decided to topple the government of AJK. They are supposed to see the results of their maneuvers now in AJK if they have eyes.
