ISLAMABAD: The Ukrainian people demonstrated their heroism, unity and invincibility in the 1,000 days of resistance to the full-scale war with Russia that is considered invasion and aggression by Russia in the opinion of most of the observers. The fact is the war was not started by Ukraine. Russia denies the invasion , aggression whatsoever.
Ukrainians demonstrated their readiness to fight for their freedom, independence and democratic values. They see it as not only the struggle of Ukraine, but also the protection of common principles. Ukrainian sources have shared the following details in the war so far;
• Ukrainian forces liberated more than 15,000 square kilometers of occupied territories, including key cities and villages in the east and south of the country.
• The UAF destroyed more than 10,000 units of Russian military equipment, including tanks, armored personnel carriers and artillery systems.

• According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces, as of mid-November 2024, Russia has lost about 720,000 soldiers.
• The Ukrainian people pay a huge price for freedom – thousands of human lives, destroyed cities, infrastructure. This should remind the civilized world that freedom does not grow on trees.
• Without the help of partners, Ukraine could not successfully resist the Russian aggressor. Therefore, supporting Ukraine is an investment in global security.
• The war against Ukraine is a challenge not only for one country. Russian aggression undermines the foundations of international law and security, setting precedents for other authoritarian regimes.

• The resistance of Ukraine has become a symbol of the struggle for freedom for many peoples. It gives an impulse to fight against dictatorships and totalitarian regimes.
• Russia’s aggression is resulted in millions of refugees, thousands of children without homes and parents. The world must understand the scale of the tragedy and help the victims. As of November of this year, there were more than 3.7 million internally displaced persons in Ukraine. More than 6.2 million Ukrainians left for European countries in search of safety.
• The total damage caused to Ukraine as a result of Russian aggression is approximately 800 billion US dollars: infrastructure damage is more than 200 billion US dollars, environmental damage caused to Ukrainian ecosystems is estimated at 65 billion US dollars.
• The creation of an international tribunal for Russian war criminals is necessary not for the Ukrainian people, but also to prevent conflicts in the future.
• Ukraine seeks to be a part of the European community. Its struggle for European values is another step towards a united and strong Europe.
