Ukraine Closer to NATO Membership – Putin’s Success or Failure?

Today, the vast majority of Ukrainians support Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the European Union. The initiative would be supported by 83% of Ukrainians, which is the highest share of respondents in the history of research in independent Ukraine.

Ukraine has already done a lot to be a member of NATO. Kyiv has come a long way in integrating into the Alliance: its forces use NATO-type weapons, tens of thousands of Ukrainian servicemen have undergone military training on NATO soil, interaction with partner countries is constantly being worked out, and intelligence sharing has become common. The Armed Forces of Ukraine right now are giving partners a master class on the destruction of the so-called “world’s second-strongest army.”

Ukraine is the only partner country that has participated in all Alliance operations since the 1990s (Naval Shield, the Afghanistan campaign, the training mission in Iraq, etc.).

By its actions, Ukraine has demonstrated that it is not necessary to follow the threats of the Kremlin. It is she who now actively defends the common core values ​​​​of the Alliance. The very invitation of Ukraine to NATO is capable of stopping the insane and inadequate Russia. It was after Kyiv’s application for membership in the Alliance that the likelihood of a Russian nuclear strike on Ukraine decreased significantly.

NATO needs Ukraine as a strong state with a strong army, which will become its eastern outpost.
