HISTORIC MOMENT IN UZBEKISTAN – AZERBAIJAN TIES – The Presidents Sign Treaty on Allied Relations

    ISLAMABAD: Monitoring Desk – At a historic moment in bilateral relations of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan  President H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President H.E. Ilham Aliyev signed the Treaty on Allied Relations on 23 Aug 2024 in Tashkent. In a very short time, the two Republics have demonstrated outstanding achievements enriching comprehensive strategic partnerships in all areas.
    Moreover, today two Leaders hosted the First Meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council. Economic prosperity, sustainable development, environmental agenda, and people-to-people contacts remain among the top priorities.
    All the agreements have been timely and fully implemented by both governments. Ministries of Foreign Affairs will continue deploying all their efforts to make our close ties stronger and stronger.
    On August 23, a ceremony of signing documents between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent with the participation of Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
    Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan , signed the “Treaty on Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
    Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, also adopted the “Decision of the First Meeting of the High Intergovernmental Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
    Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, signed the “Cooperation Program for 2025-2026 between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
    Umid Shadiev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Fuad Nagiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan,signed the “Action Plan for 2024-2026 in the Field of Tourism between the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
    Adil Karimli, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Ozodbek Nazarbekov, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, signed the “Roadmap for Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation for 2024-2026 between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
    Hilola Umarova, Minister of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, signed the “Protocol on Cooperation in the Field of Preschool and General Education between the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

    Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Kongratbay Sharipov, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, signed the “Protocol on Cooperation in Vocational Education, Secondary Special, Higher Education, and Science between the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
    Akbar Tashkulov, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, signed the “Cooperation Program for 2024-2026 between the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
    Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Akbar Tashkulov, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, signed the “Protocol on Cooperation between the Justice Academy of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Lawyers’ Training Center under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
    Akbar Tashkulov, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and  Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, signed the “Protocol on Cooperation between the Forensic Examination Center of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republican Forensic Science Center named after Kh. Sulaimanova under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

    Pakistan in the World – April / May 2024

    Huseyn Guliyev, Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Rustam Jurayev, Commander of the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan, signed the “Agreement on Cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
    Behzod Musayev, Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Sahil Babayev, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan,signed the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Employment and Protection of Labor Rights of Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan Temporarily Working in the Republic of Uzbekistan and Citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan Temporarily Working in the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
    Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, signed the “Practical Action Plan for 2024-2025 (Roadmap) for the Expansion of Trade-Economic and Investment Cooperation between the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
    As part of the visit, several documents were also signed, including agreements on interregional cooperation between Baku (Azerbaijan) and Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Beylagan (Azerbaijan) and Shahrisabz (Uzbekistan), and Guba (Azerbaijan) and Jizzakh (Uzbekistan). Additionally, a “Key Terms Agreement” was signed between the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Uzbekneftegaz JSC.
