Irani Foreign Minister in Pakistan to Muster Support on Israel – Calls on Prime Minister – Conveys Message from President

ISLAMABAD: H.E. Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of Iran, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, today.The Iranian Foreign Minister thanked the Prime Minister about Pakistan’s principled position and briefed him on Iran’s perspective regarding the situation in the region. The visit is being seen in the background of Iran’s retaliatory attacks on Israel and worsening situation in the region.
Welcoming Mr. Araghchi on his first official visit to Pakistan as Foreign Minister of Iran, Prime Minister conveyed his sincere regards and good wishes to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and President Massoud Pezeshkian.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen its brotherly relationship with Iran through maintaining regular high-level exchanges, as well as enhancing mutually advantageous cooperation across all spheres of shared interest.

Pakistan Welcomes Palestinian Students from Gaza for Free of Cost Studies in National Universities

During the meeting, the worrying situation in the Middle East region came under discussion. While reaffirming Pakistan’s unequivocal support to the Palestinian people in their just struggle for self-determination and statehood, the Prime Minister reiterated strong condemnation of and grave concern over the Israel’s ongoing genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people.
The Prime Minister also emphasized upon the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, provision of unhindered humanitarian assistance and, above all, grant of the inalienable right to self-determination to the Palestinian people, as guaranteed to them by the relevant resolutions of the UN, as well as OIC.
The Prime Minister also reiterated strong condemnation of Israel’s attack against Iran on October 26, 2024, while reaffirming support for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Observers see the visit as to muster the support or take in confidence the countries of the region in the context of expansion of the conflict and confrontation in the Middle East. Pakistan is not in a position to take a stand like Iran but diplomatic and political support can be extended. The government of Pakistan has not hinted anything at this matter.
