ISLAMABAD: Director for Asia and Oceania of the China Railway 20 Bureau Group Corporation (CR20G), Mr. Xin Han, called on Federal Minister for Investment, Sheikh Qaiser Ahmed, in Islamabad. CR20G’s Chief Representative in Pakistan, Shoeb Ahmed, and Correspondant of Voice of America Mr. Ali Furqan also accompanied him in the meeting.
During the meeting, both sides discussed potential collaboration on key infrastructure projects, including the construction of the Sukkur–Hyderabad Motorway (M-6) and the upgradation of the Pakistan Railways’ Rohri–Karachi section, a project of critical national importance.
CR20G’s Chief Representative in Pakistan, Shoeb Ahmed, briefed the Federal Minister that the company had successfully completed the Lahore–Multan (M-3) Motorway within two years, from 2016 to 2018 — a project widely recognized for its efficiency and quality.
Welcoming the delegation, Minister Sheikh Qaiser Ahmed expressed appreciation for China’s sustained partnership in Pakistan’s development journey. He noted that the Government of Pakistan has significantly simplified the business environment and continues to encourage foreign investment, particularly from long-standing partners like China.
“China has played a vital role in Pakistan’s economic growth and infrastructure development,” the Minister said, adding that the government is confident that CPEC Phase-II will deliver tangible benefits to the common people.
