At a time when high officials of Pakistan and China are visiting each other’s countries regularly and the main topic in their deliberations is CPEC Phase 02, senior observers and experts are sharing that China is disappointed with Pakistan and CPEC is on hold , further investment is on hold. This is serious issue and the concerned including Media section of China Embassy Islamabad is supposed to see it accordingly.
No development on CPEC and No further investment from China is expected until Pakistan arrests the killers of Chinese nationals. 19 Chinese have been killed in Pakistan. Nothing have been done by Pakistan on this issue and this is highly disturbing for China.

This state of affairs has not been penned down by some journalist but has been stated by Mushahid Hussain Syed, former Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defense and Chairman China Pakistan Institute. Mushahid is one of few experts of CPEC and Pak China relations in Pakistan.
He made these remarks at ,The 9th “Adab Festival Pakistan”, hosted by the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) in collaboration with Lightstone Publishers on 22 Dec 2024.
He said that Pakistan after every killing of Chinese, claimed that the culprits would be brought to book but nothing was done. No culprit has been arrested.
” China has interest in Pakistan but China will not invest until Pakistan provides security to her citizens, Mushahid shared.
Former Ambassador of Pakistan to China, Masood Khan was also present in this session. He said that both countries are working on the security of Chinese.
