Dead Body of Pakistani Girl Medical Student in China will be Shifted to Pakistan without Charging her Parents

Man proposes and God disposes ! What a sad  story of a bright girl student of MBBS in China that started with an ambition and ended in tears only. Farhana Mushtaq daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad of Khanpur district Rahim Yar Khan of South Punjab died of illness in China after completing two years of education.
Student Farhana was studying MBBS in Shenyang Medical College of China where she fell ill and ultimately died.
Mushtaq a middle class father sent her daughter for education to China spending his life time saved money only for the future of her daughter but …………………
The news of a poor father’s young daughters death in China spread on social media in Pakistan like the jungle’s fire. Many people including some educated persons shared wrong information that Pakistani Embassy and College are demanding 3 Million PKR equivalent to make arrangements for shifting of the dead body to Pakistan. Irresponsible people shared a wrong picture of the student to attract more viewers.

An appeal was also circulating for financial help of the poor father with two of his mobile numbers. This scribe called on both numbers but no direct contact or conversation could be established.
Pakistan Embassy and the Medical College together took the matter on human basis. An acquaintance of the aggrieved family, Mr. Tariq Ali has been designated by the parents of the student to deal with the matter. Student’s parents agreed not to claim any form of compensation and subsidy from the Medical College except for the body transfer fee.
An agreement in this regard was reached on 21 Sep and the dead body will be shifted to Pakistan on  29th September. Family of deceased student is satisfied with the efforts of the Embassy of Pakistan Beijing.
There is no detail available, from any side , actually what happened to the student, what type of illness it was , where she was treated or not treated. The Embassy or the Medical College should share this detail as well. As per rules in Chinese Medical Colleges, the students have a medical check up annually.

On 21 Sep, Late in the night, commenting on social media commentary on the delay in repatriation of the mortal remains of a Pakistani student who passed away in China, Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said:
“The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing is in contact with the university of the student and her family.
There are legal procedures and regulations that need to be fulfilled in repatriation of dead bodies from China. Furthermore, transportation with commercial flights involves special arrangements including embalming of the body and transport of the remains in a specialized vehicle with cold storage. The dead body can be sent after completion of these arrangements.
At the intervention of the Embassy, the insurance company has agreed to pay a compensation to the family and the university has offered to bear the cost of transportation of the dead body.
The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing is facilitating the process. It is working towards completion of the legal procedures and to facilitate repatriation with the next available Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight.”
