Washington; Dr. Asad Majeed Khan,Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States
presented credentials to President Donald J. Trump at the White House as on January 11, 2019
He has said in a statement that there can be no greater honor for me than to represent Pakistan in Washington D.C. Over the last seven decades, Pakistan and the United States have enjoyed close diplomatic relations. Together, we have seen many ups and downs. While we are presently passing through a challenging phase of this relationship, I firmly believe that both countries have benefited the most whenever we have worked together.
I look forward to working with the U.S. government, corporate sector, think-tanks, academia and media to foster stronger ties between our two countries.
Having previously served on diplomatic assignments in Washington and New York, I have interacted extensively with the Pakistani American community. Our Diaspora in the United States is a valuable asset that can play a vital role in realizing Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of building a stronger and better Pakistan.
In the coming days, I will be working closely with our community members to explore how we can collaborate and co-operate. I have also instructed our Consuls General in New York, Los Angeles, Houston, and Chicago to work tirelessly to facilitate the consular needs of the community.
Pakistani American Congress on behalf of its constituent organizations & Pakistani-American community extends a very warm welcome to the new Ambassdor of Pakistan to USA, H.E. Dr. Asad Majeed Khan. We eagerly look forward to working with the Ambassador to repair and strengthen fractured Pak-US relations. There was a dire need of a career diplomat who has experience, expertise, knowledge and vision to steer Pak-US relations cautiously & skillfully through high tides, rough current & choppy water to safe port of call. Amb. Dr. Asad Majeed is richly qualified and as such he is the right person for the right job.
