Chairman Bilawal Bhutto took the initiative ,and launched his election campaign first of all. He visited all Pakistan, and a large number of people attended his rallies. Undoubtedly, he nicely elaborated his manifesto as Well as the performance of PPP in the province of Sindh. Although he successfully reactivated his party in all the provinces, specially in Punjab, it is also a fact that his efforts could not be materialized into getting the majority in the national assembly and provincial.assembly except Sindh. It is imperative to critically evaluate the reasons.
First, the Peoples Party organizations of central Punjab and south Punjab have been ignored since 2008 onwards. the party gradually lost the ground in Punjab due to a gap between the leadership and the party organizations. The workers and voters of the PPP began to dismay and eventually joined other political parties particularly most of them moved to PTI due to venomous propaganda against all political parties
The propaganda against the president Zardari launched in the decade of eighties played role to malign the minds of the young generations.
Second, the major political parties did not opt futuristic approach, ignored the rapidly increasing role of young voters in imminent future. On the contrary, the project Imran Khan had been launched invisibly ,the electronic and print media propagated rather preached the agenda of project Imran Khan considering it an obligation. The rapid urban voters of lower and upper middle class came into the trans of the anti corruption narrative that was vigorously converted into rhetoric of abusing opponents and blame game became the rule of the land.
Third , the undue support to project Imran Khan forced the federal political parties to go onto back foot. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto commenced his political career as youngest politician and chairman of the PPP after the sad martyrdom of his mother. He penetrated into the political fabric of Pakistan and successfully slotted in the ranks of the PPP.

He proved himself eligible for the legacy of the Bhutto but still he has to combat many challenges to translate his dream of converting Pakistan into a progressive ,developed and democratic Pakistan to attract the young voters.Obviously, Pakistan Peoples Party has not only retained her position in Sindh but performed far better in the general elections 2024.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto must acknowledge the fact that there is still a a lot to do to attract the 59 million young voters and those who will join before the general elections of 2029.
The most important reason is the young voters age group 18-30.
They are gravely influenced by the anti establishment and anti PPP, PMLN propaganda. They cast votes to independents enthusiastically despite understanding the manifesto,admitting the best campingn.
The senior leadership of PPP ignored young voters who were growing up for last two decades and provided opportunity to IK and his media cell to malign the minds with venomous propaganda against all political leaders, parties, institutions and army because PTI had the agenda to set up one party fascist rule.
Still that threat of one party rule exists and may get more enthusiasm after this election..
It is the obligation of the political leadership to tackle the independents tactfully learning the lesson from history.
Indeed, the young voters are not willing to give any room to PPP and PMLN.
Therefore, on every forum, the PPP leadership to think and devise a strategy to bring out these misled youth from the influence of Imran Khan’s propaganda.
In the end, PTI voters have cast vote due to anti establishment sentiments but the most interesting fact is that now they are in a perplexing situation. The independents are independent to decide …..rest you are wise and can understand the underpinnings of the word ” independents” The youth has expressed anger due to an opportunity of ” catharsis”.
The heavy responsibility lies on the Peoples Party and Chairman Bilawal must devise a ” correctional strategy” for misled PTI young voters to bring them into the national stream as well as to debrief them against the hate for political leaders, parties ,pak army and all institutions of Pakistan. Whether PPP digital media has this capacity to compete with the propaganda of PTI social media or not. It is evident that PPP has no such trained digital media expert who can combat the PTI venomous propaganda against Pakistan. Chairman Bilawal has to find out of the box solution for it.
Another pertinent point is that the agenda of improvement can be implemented by setting up your own home (PPP) into order. If the Pakistan Peoples Party can win in Sindh and perform better due to the better performance of leaders and party organizations at all levels in Sindh , then it can happen in Punjab, KPK and Balochistan.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has to pay full attention to the reorganization of party organizations at all levels to hold intra-party elections immediately to get rid of white elephants in the party ranks. He should inquire from all the ticket holders who have lost the elections and from the party office bearers about the failure of the party despite running a brilliant election campaign all over Pakistan.
They should also request their “seniors” to make room for their younger team to plan and execute the goals they set for their party and the people of Pakistan. The Central Executive Committee of the People’s Party should consist of young active and energetic members. The bottom line is that if party tickets were given to young leaders, things might be much better.
Chairman Bilawal has performed brilliantly as the leader of the party but if he wants to achieve his goals, he has to do his part to infuse the party with young blood. There is no substitute for experience, yes it is a fact, but the seniors should allow the younger cadre to take their place, recognizing the fact that the majority of the young voters support the old leadership. It is not ready to accept the needs of the 21st century.
