Islamabad: 23 May 2025 – Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Ms. Aisha Farooq Regional Tax Office, Islamabad met media representatives at RTO’s conference room today afternoon.
She shared with them that with her recent posting, various initiatives are being undertaken by Regional Tax Office, Islamabad for taxpayer’s facilitation, public awareness and enforcement of tax laws in letter and spirit.
These measures include establishment of special facilitation desks for women entrepreneurs and senior citizens, setting up a dedicated whatsapp number for taxpayers suggestions, complaints or feedback and holding khulli katcheri on last thursday every month.
She emphasized that work along with integrity of all the staff of Regional Tax Office, Islamabad is going to be monitored. Any suggestion, feedback or complaint of the taxpayers sent at special Whatsapp number, would be managed by her secretariat.
She shared to ease the woes of taxpayers instructions have been given to expedite refunds to the small taxpayers and salaried persons having claims below the amount of One lac on top priority.
Furthermore,The Chief Commissioner shared that to ensure effective monitoring and implementation of Point of Sale system (POS), special POS squads have been established by Regional Tax Office, Islamabad to visit markets, restaurants, grocery stores etc for broadening of tax base,expansion of POS integration among Tier 1 retailers and business owners, education of taxpayers and public awareness.
She was accompanied by Commissioners-IR of RTO Islamabad including Mr.Said Munaf, Commissioner-IR North Zone and ICTO Zone,Syeda Adeela Bukhari Commissioner-IR South Zone, Mr Abdul Razzaq khan Commissioner-IR Special Zone for Builders and Developers, Mr Naveed Khan Tareen Commissioner-IR Withholding Zone and Mr Zafar Jamal Jasra Additional Commissioner (HQs).
Team RTO islamabad apprised media that due tax collection will be followed up allowing no segment to hoodwink the system on already collected taxes on behalf of the state. The meeting ended with the note of thanks and a request by the Chief commissioner to the media representatives to report facts after verification.
