Yemen will not Let any Foreign Supported Militia to Rule any Corner of the

Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen , H.E Mohammad Motahhar Alashabi has said that his country will not let the militias rule on any corner of the state. The state will maintain its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Some regional powers are providing weapons , missiles and drones to Houthis. Yemen expects the international community will play its due role in restoration of peace.
He said this in his interaction with media persons in Islamabad today. He shared the details of the crisis and the stance of his government on the issue.
The Ambassador noted that Yemen is facing challenges from armed groups that are receiving weapons and money from here and there.
The Ambassador said , it is not the problem of Yemen only but it is the challenge to the international community. Our national security is in danger but it is equally a threat to the international community if we see it from the perspective of the Bab el-Mandeb strait.
He said, 60 % of the world’s marine trade is conducted through Bab el-Mandeb. He mentioned the energy crises created due to Hormuz and not at Bab el-Mandeb and shared that the prices of petroleum are doubled and are hard to afford by the people.
H.E Alashabi noted , what is happening in the East and South of Yemen is foreign intervention to support the armed militia that is a threat to human security.
He said without mentioning the identity , they are sending mercenaries with lethal weapons with the Bashaarat of Jannat ( Good News to Go to Heaven) and tell them if you fight against the state you will go to heaven.
He said , the fall of Bab el Mandeb to the Houthis , if it happens, is not the problem of Yemen only. The blockade of Bab el-Mandeb after Hormuz is a big conflict and more dangerous for all.
Ambassador added that Yemen wants peace, Yemen has been facing this situation for the last 12 years, and the Yemen state does not have missiles and drones that Houthis are carrying. He questioned where they are getting them from?
H.E Alashabi said, Yeme offered dialogue to restore peace and unity in the country many times but Houthis are not ready for that.
About the role of Pakistan, the Ambassador said, we attach great value with our relations with Pakistan. We have common interests. Pakistan is an important country with respect to the Middle East. We look forward to Pakistan playing any role to defuse the escalation and pave the way towards dialogue for peace in our region.
