National Assembly of Pakistan welcomed delegation of Azerbaijan in the house on 09 Nov 2021 and expressed solidarity with brotherly country. A pleasant consensus was observed from both treasury and opposition benches when Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshy and former Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq MNA PMLN supported and congratulated Azerbaijan on their first Victory Day 08 Nov 2021.This kind of unanimity is a rare thing to see in the Pakistani Parliament. It clearly indicates that Azerbaijan is equally respected and accepted by all parties in a widely diversified politics of Pakistan.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshy, in his address in the house, assured Pakistan’s complete support to the people of Azerbaijan through thick and thin.He said Pakistan and Azerbaijan share common views on international fora.He said Azerbaijan is a part of OIC Contact Group on Kashmir where it plays an active role to support Pakistan on the issue.
Shah Mehmood Qureshy noted that “Azerbaijan is one country that stood with Pakistan at international fora and I am happy that when Azerbaijani people needed and they were struggling against aggression, Pakistan stood with them and we are celebrating Azerbaijan’s Victory Day today.”
FM appreciated that Azerbaijan always acknowledges Pakistan’s support in all possible ways. Pakistani flag was hoisting along with flags of Azerbaijan and Turkey in Baku.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiqin his speech said “I would like to congratulate our brothers from Azerbaijan, because yesterday was a great day in the history of our brotherly country Azerbaijan, because after 30 years of occupation by Armenia, Azerbaijan finally got the Karabakh back”
He said it is first time in the history of this Parliament that we are celebrating Victory Day of Azerbaijan here.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq acknowledged that Azerbaijan is the country that has never left a stone untruned in support to Pakistan on the issue of Kashmir.
The Parliamentarians hailed the brotherhood of both countries by a big clap.
Azerbaijan delegation attended the session of National Assembly. Mr. and Mrs. Khazar Nadir Oglu Farhadov , Ambassador led the delegation to the lower house of Parliament of Pakistan. The delegation stood on their seats and thanked the parliamentarians for their welcome and support.
Earlier on 28 Oct 2020, National Assembly of Pakistan unanimously adopted a resolution to condemn Armenian Aggression in Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The resolution was presented by Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, former Speaker of the house that reads as;
“This house expresses deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in Nagomo-Karabakh region of the Republic of Azarbaijan;
# Condemns the illegal, immoral, unethical and brutal acts of aggression by Armenian forces in Nagomo-Karabakh;
#Fully endorses Azerbaijan’s rightful restoration of territorial integrity over the Nagorno-Karabakh region, which is in line with the several unanimously adopted United Nations Security Council resolutions;
#Emphasizes that the enforcement and legitimacy of resolutions of the UNSC can never be diluted by unilateral actions
#Supports the brotherly nation of Azerbaijan’s right to self-defense, necessary for the sovereignty and integrity of Azerbaijan;
#Denounces the use of violence by Armenia and urges it to stop its irresponsible military action to avoid further escalation;
#The house is mindful of the pain and misery caused by Armenian aggression to the innocent civilians population of Azerbaijan including men, women and children;
#Reaffirms and expresses Pakistan’s complete political, diplomatic and moral support to the brave people of Azerbaijan;
