Islamabad; 10 Nov 2021 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Palestine expresses its deep concern about the Colombian President, Ivan Duque, opening today an office for trade and innovation for his country in occupied Jerusalem, as part of an official visit to the occupying country, despite the demands of the State of Palestine not to take this step, which is a violation of international law.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Palestine is surprised by Colombia’s taking this step, especially as it is known for its commitment to international law and international legitimacy resolutions that affirm that Jerusalem is an inseparable part of the occupied Palestinian territory, and therefore opening offices to represent the interests of countries in Jerusalem, regardless of its nature, is a violation of international law And a departure from the basic standards and international positions that support the two-state solution.

The Ministry calls on Colombia to reverse this step, which is a reward for the occupying power and its racist policies, and an encouragement to it to continue committing more violations that undermine the imposition of peace.
