Friday, 03 Nov and Saturday 04 Nov 2023 were two consecutive the most challenging days if we do not say bad, for Pakistan and Armed Forces when at least 5 attacks were conducted by the terrorists in the country in two provinces of KPK and Balochistan. Three of them were the high level ambushes that took lives of 14 Military personnel in Gawader district of Balochistan and 6 citizens in Dera Ismael Khan of KPK. 3 soldiers of military have been martyred in other incidents. In third major attempt, the terrorists dared to target Mianwali Airbase and destroyed 3 aircrafts that the Inter Services Public Relations ISPR terms as already grounded.
The latest attacks can be the desperate move of terrorists to take revenge of the killing of 6 of their accomplices on the night between 31 Oct and 1st Nov 2023 when security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in general area Sambaza, Zhob District on reported presence of terrorists.The killed terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces and target killing of innocent civilians.
ISPR shared on Friday evening “Two vehicles of the security forces moving from Pasni to Ormara in Gwadar district were ambushed by terrorists. 14 soldiers embraced martyrdom in the unfortunate incident.A sanitisation operation was being carried out in the area and “perpetrators of this heinous act will be hunted down and brought to justice .”
Same day in Dera Ismael Khan of KPK, a vehicle carrying officers of the K-P Elite Force was the target in which the personnel remained safe but 6 citizens, most of young boys 16 to 20 years old lost their lives. Police official Muhammad Adnan said it was not immediately clear whether it was a planted device or a suicide bomber targeted the vehicle.Some reports suggest that the bomb was strapped to a motorcycle which might have been remotely detonated as the police patrol drove past.
There were reports that as rescuers started shifting the casualties to hospitals, unidentified gunmen opened fire on police personnel present there. Some students of the Government Degree College, who happened to be at the site, were also injured in the post-bombing shooting.
In a separate incident, a young man was killed in a blast targeting a joint police-army patrol near the Hathala police station in DI Khan. Preliminary investigation suggests that the explosive device was planted by the roadside and detonated remotely. The terrorists attacked the security forces with small arms soon after the bomb went off.

ISPR shared “On 3 November 23, three incidents occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. An intelligence based operation was conducted in general area Rori, Dera Ismail Khan District and one terrorist was sent to hell, while two terrorists were injured. The killed terrorist has been identified as Usama, TTP’s suicide bomber, who was planning to carryout a high profile incident in the area.
In a second operation, conducted in Lakki Marwat District, one terrorist was sent to hell and various terrorists hides were busted. However, during intense exchange of fire two Soldiers; Naik Zafar Iqbal (age: 37 years, resident of:District Gujranwala) & Sepoy Haji Jan (age: 30 years, resident of District Ghizar, Gilgit Baltistan), having fought gallantly embraced martyrdom.
In another incident, an Improvised Explosive Device exploded in general area Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan District and resultant, Havaldar Shahid Iqbal (age: 39 years, resident of: District Mirpur Khas) embraced martyrdom.
On 04 November, 2023, in the early hours of the day, Mianwali Training Air Base of Pakistan Air Force came under a what ISPR cleaims “a failed terrorist attack” which due to the swift and effective response by the troops, has been foiled and thwarted, ensuring the safety and security of personnel and assets.
Demonstrating exceptional courage and timely response, 9 terrorists were killed even before they could enter the base while remaining 3 terrorists have been cornered/isolated due to timely and effective response by the troops.
“However, during the attack, some damage to three already grounded aircraft and a fuel browser also occurred, ISPR said.
The successful operation was launched by security forces to eliminate any potential threat in the surrounding area following the cowardly and failed terrorist attack on the base this morning.The prompt and professional conclusion of the operation serves as a stark reminder to all enemies of peace that Pakistan’s Armed Forces remain vigilant and are fully capable of defending the homeland from any threat.
Oct started with the most heinous attack in Mastung city of Balochistan on 01 Oct with more than 60 civilian casualties and another in Hangu city of KPK with 5 people dead and a suicide bomber killed. Both attacks were conducted on the sacred occasion of the birth celebrations of the last prophet Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH).
The latest heavy toll of lives , the military has to bear is on Friday again a sacred day for Muslims. It seems that the terrorists are hitting the targets on special occasions and days to serve their nefarious purposes.
The northwest and southwest of the country are the worst hit areas by the terrorists for last couple of months. The latest wave of terrorism surfaced in early Sep this year when Pakistan was preparing to celebrate the Defense Day of Pakistan, 06 Sep 2023.
Pakistan thwarted Indian attack on Lahore on 06 Sep 1965. As long as, the attacks of terrorists are concerned, Pakistan has proved Indian hand in the sabotaje activities in Balochistan in shape of Kulbhushan Jhadev.
Another example of Indian involvement in terrorism in other countries, came from Canada most recently. Previously , Sri Lanka was the target of Indian supported terrorists , who were neutralized there with the support of Pakistan.

China Pakistan Economic Corridor is entering into the second phase but the matter of fact is many projects of the first phase are still pending and the main route of the road that is in KPK and Balochistan, is the worst hit by the terrorists despite all efforts of security forces to root out this menace from the country.
It means we are not sure about what will happen to the second phase of CPEC that was claimed to be the game changer for Pakistan. Factually there is no change in the lives of the people who even belong to the main route of the road, in KPK and Balochistan. One thing is they have not seen the results of economic well being. Bigger than that is , they are facing suicide attacks, bomb blasts, terrorist attacks now more than before CPEC construction was started.
The caretaker government that is more a careless government than caretaker is just passing time, enjoying the benefits of their allotted positions only. Most of them belong to the same provinces that are the worst hit by terrorism. Prime Minister and Interior Minister , both are from Balochistan. Prime Minister has Pashtaun and Afghani back ground as well. PM has been spokesperson of Balochistan gov only a few years ago. The incumbent spokesperson Jan Achakzai appeared in media only a few years ago and succeeded in securing a seat in the train of the ruling class.
Most of the caretakers have been hand picked with no capacity and qualification to deal and address the issues the country is facing for it survival. The armed forces seem to be alone in fight against terrorism with no support from the government side in any shape. They are always uttering the same rhetoric after every shocking attack of terrorism. They do not have any vision.
On one side they are making decisions with no mandate as the caretakers only, on the matters that are easy to deal or they are directed to do the same. On other side, where there are tough things to do, they take refuge in the constitution that does not allow them to take policy level steps.
To be a Prime Minister or Minister of the country is not doubt an honor and a benefit of life. It is quite natural and human to embark the train of ruling class. It is fascinating to be at the top. But here you are watched by everyone as what you can do and what not?
The train of the ruling class is running but with no clarity where to go. This train can never reach at any destination. To board the boat of the privileged is one thing. But to take the boat to the coast is another thing. They are enjoying free ride only. They are not headed toward any destination.
