Thailand Ambassador Calls on Punjab Governor to Enhance Cooperation

LAHORE ;On 21 November 2025, the Ambassador paid a courtesy call on Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Governor of Punjab, at the Governor’s House in Lahore to discuss ways to further promote cooperation between Thailand and Pakistan in various areas.
The Governor underscored the long-standing and close relations between the two countries, as well as the significance of the Buddhist heritage in Punjab, particularly in Taxila, which is home to world-renowned archaeological sites. Both sides agreed on the strong potential to expand cooperation in religious and cultural tourism.
On this occasion, the Governor also showed the Ambassador the tree planted by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great (Rama IX) during His Majesty’s visit to Lahore in 1962, which continues to be well preserved.
The Ambassador expressed appreciation for the historical beauty of Lahore and reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, culture, and tourism. He also thanked the Government of Pakistan for its dedicated care and preservation of Buddhist historical sites.
