Zorain Nizamaani’s ” Article ” ! Express Tribune is Expected to Terminate the Responsible – by Tazeen Akhtar

As I have served as News Editor, Resident Editor and Editor in different newspaper in Lahore Islamabad , I can see the real reason for deleting this article (if it can be called or considered). My colleagues know very well about my skills in editing and correction. I would have terminated the incharge of this page , let alone deleting the article only.

Here is my observation ;

1- Why is the name above the headline? English newspapers , and a paper like Express Tribune, is never supposed to highlight an article that is not an article but may be a randomly typo sent for publishing. Moreover , the contributor is not an established writer.

2- English newspapers , in routine, publish such immature writings , after correction in letters to editors. Here , it has been given special coverage by publishing a full size portrait with name at the top. also twice in the matter.

3- Same intro of the contributor in the start and at the end of the content. Why?

4- This sentence is repeated again and again. See the space given and highlighted , only to make it like an article that it is not , it is only one or two short paragraphs

5- Connection ? Confusion – Where the “article” is starting from? If the first column is introductory and important lines given there separately, it is still wrong to make a small thing big by repeating the content. And in the intro even, the sentence is not complete.

6- Old Men and Women ? What does it mean? Meaningless and just Biased as Generation Issue only. All old men and women are useless or careless or corrupt? Does he mean the same for his mother Fazilah Qazi Wajid and father Qaisar Nizamaani, PTV drama artists. His maternal grandfather Qazi Wajid was basically a comedian character artist.

7- No matter how many talks k ! grammar talk ! K ?

9- Repetition

10- Abrupt start of sentence with no meaning.

But , these issues have already been discussed and criticized by all, the journalists, civil society, and youth on every platform. This youngman has not brought anything new. Therefore , so much hue and cry on deletion of his “article” is out of proportion.

Let’s do not present the youth as fully cognizant of what is happening around them. Do not portray the youth only is the solution to all problems. How many of this youth sit with elders and seek guidance for their future ? How many of this youth talk about the founders of Pakistan?

He calls “Old men and women” collectively as not fit, and presents the youth as whole , informed and mindful. It clearly shows the youngman has been pampered and appreciated by his parents out of the limits. Matter of fact is, a large number of Pakistani youth has nothing to do with politics of the country or international developments. Most of them are not ready to work hard. They want everything done for them while they have chit chat with friends , online or offline.
