Politics of Pakistan is bringing a new story every passing day. One day someone from opposition is making news and the other day government people are in the media and press. And the public is astonished what good can be expected from such an abnormal state of affairs.
Last week husband of a law maker of PTI tortured a judge at a gas station, situated at a highly sensitive location in between foreign office and diplomatic enclave. Few days ago a leader of PMLN was beaten badly by the brother of a lady MNA of the same party in Faisalabad. And on 29th Sep another story was ready again in Islamabad, again from a PTI women MNA and again it was a bad example for the commoners who are looking towards the law makers for some betterment while they are upto something else.
Raja Abdul Rehman, Retired Chief Scientist/Director Strategic Analysis wrote an open letter to Prime Minister of PTI, Mr Imran Khan. He writes ;
MY wife is a 67 years old woman, Grade 20 Retired Senior Citizen; living in House 359, Street 33, Sector F-11/2, Islamabad for the last 25 years. Very recently, a woman MNA from PTI Ms. Kanwal Shauzab had purchased a house No.334D Street No.32, F-11/2.
There is a shared open land that faces our house and to the west side of her home. On CDA resources, an exclusive campaign for beautification of environment around her(MNA’s) home was ongoing, demolishing several old trees.
As my wife is a green Pakistan lover, she used her civic duty to complain to CDA, the Mayor Islamabad and social media with a request that trees should not be cut. The Environment wing of CDA intervened and tried to stop cutting of trees but it continued intermittently.
On 23rd September, 2020 around 1200 hrs., when my wife was outside in the lawn, Ms. Kanwal MNA jumped into, crossing fences in-between our houses and grabbed her(my wife) from throat, punched and beat, snatched mobile and threw it away, threatening of dire consequences. Her language was extremely abusive never ever heard in our 45 years of peaceful stay in Islamabad.
A woman lawmaker, who took solemn oath to be the faithful protector of the LAW, acts in an absolute and utter violation of her OATH and law of the land by going savagely wild on an old law abiding woman Citizen, more than the age of her mother. The woman MNA shamefully bulldozing to ashes all civility, our religious, moral and social norms.
I bring this issue with the reasons that does she, a fascist mindset, deserve this very honorable Status being conferred on behalf of the Peoples of Pakistan? I want my ordeal to be heard and justice be served by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran khan whom many of us voted for a change nothing but only Justice and Justice. (Letter Ends Here)
Kanwal Shauzab’s Stance
When this letter became viral on social media , Kanwal Shauzab showed up with her own side of story – She says that ;
In response to the vitriolic harassment and vile social media defamation campaign:
Raja Abdur Rehman and Fatima Abdur Rehman, residents of House 359, F-11/2, Street 33 (the street that is adjacent and completely separate to ours), who share no boundary with us, are the only one of a street full of houses who took issue with the CDA’s approved beautification of the unplanned land next to our house which had become a desolate expanse of wild bushes and shrubs, plagued with dangerous wild animals (wild boars, snakes, scorpions) and street druggies/criminals – posing a serious security threat to our house.
IHC Again Reserves the Verdict on Petition Seeking Disqualification of 3 PTI Women MNAs
Mrs Abdur Rehman had been using the land, primarily, as her personal disposal site for trash, and took ‘moral’ issue with our efforts to clean and beautify on the entirely fabricated and false assertion that we had cut down trees.
Failing to produce tangible evidence to halt the process of beautification legally, she grew frustrated and exercised her so called ‘civic duty’ by first, abusively bullying CDA and MCI personnel and then, sending her employed cook to physically obstruct private laborers (operating tractors), to stop them from continuing their work.
She concurrently undertook a hateful social media campaign against me (I’m a political figure and my reputation is inherently valuable to my career), scandalizing a non-political issue, weaponizing my political status against me, and misleadingly reporting the matter as the supposed victim in official forums.
The delirious Mrs Abdur Rehman did not stop at this, approaching me whilst I was on the land directing work, instigating me with indecent, vulgar language, and threatening to defame me further in the media. She followed up on this by pulling out her phone and filming me illegally, without my consent, and when I stood up to her oppression and harassment – refusing to be filmed – she brutally assaulted me: grabbing me by the neck and pushing me to the ground.
