ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Germany H.E Alfred Grannas has said, one man sitting in Kremlin can’t make others his hostage. Support for Ukraine is an investment the Security of Ukraine, the Security of Europe and the Security of the entire World.

Here is the full text of the address of the  Ambassador ;
It remains the joint task of the whole international community to support Ukraine in its fight against the illegal Russian invasion. The brave Ukrainian people are defending their freedom and their homeland but they are also fighting for all of us. We must all remember and honor the sacrifices that members of the Ukrainian armed forces have made every day for the past two years.
Sovereignty and territorial integrity are core elements of international law. It is in every country’s interest for these foundational principles of the UN charter to be safeguarded. Russia’s illegal war of aggression against Ukraine is an attack against the rules-based international order. It constitutes a dangerous precedent that cannot be left unanswered.  Germany opposes a world in which “might makes right”. International law must be respected.
Its violation must be categorically opposed and countered by the international community of responsible and peace-loving nations. The vast majority of UN Member States have condemned Russia’s barbaric war in numerous resolutions of the General Assembly.

There is No Ukraine Fatigue -Weimar Triangle of Poland, France, Germany Standing Against Russian Aggression United and Determined -Pakistan’s Voice Matters – Amb Ukraine

The overwhelming global opposition to the Russian aggression is important. Russia cannot be allowed to succeed in its plans to destroy Ukraine and annex its territory. Germany will support Ukraine for as long as it takes and Russia should not expect our support to weaken. In 2024 Germany’s military aid to Ukraine will reach over 7bn EUR.
 In the past two years, German support for Ukraine has totaled around 30bn EUR. Our humanitarian aid alone has reached 840 Mio EUR. Germany is Ukraine’s second largest supporter after the United States of America.
 We are also preparing for a future after the war. In June, Germany will host the “Ukraine Recovery Conference” in Berlin. In preparing for the conference, we are actively liaising with our Ukrainian partners, including representatives of the civil society.
There is currently a perception that the military situation for Ukraine is grim. Despite challenges that do exist, we should not forget what remarkable successes Ukraine has achieved in the last two years.
Since the start of the war, Ukraine has succeeded in liberating over 50% of the territory that Russia had occupied at some point. Ukraine has also managed to secure a corridor across the Black Sea in order to continue its grain-exports. Ukraine’s success against the Russian navy have also been impressive.
