TLP @ Faizabad Again – For Gaza or For Supreme Court of Pakistan? by Tazeen Akhtar

Supreme Court is hearing the case of last sit inn of Nov 2017 by the same TLP in which Military and Secret agency officials were summoned by the court but certainly they do not appear in the courts. In short the decision of last sit inn about the involvement of Military command is still pending and TLP again has staged another sit inn making the millions of residents of twin cities hostage.

In last sit inn we saw a Maj General was distributing currency notes of thousand rupees as the transport fare for return to home and he was having fatherly conversations with the protestors who not only closed the main entries of the twin cities but had bloody clashes with the police resulting in casualties. In the present sit inn we have seen a Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad Police having smiles and giving selfies to who have closed the ways of the general public making the free movement impossible.

What is TLP again at Faizabad for?

Apparently;

1- Government of Pakistan should provide food and medicine in Gaza.

2- Pakistan declare Israeli Prime Minister , a Terrorist.

3- Pakistan ban all Israeli products.

Matter of fact is ;

1- Government already sent many aircrafts of releif assistance consisting of food , medicine and other items.

2- Everyone in Pakistan including the Government declares Israeli PM a terrorist. No one has ever said that Netanyahu is a gentleman. Pakistan in caretaker tenure declared Israeli attacks in Gaza as Genocide of Gaza people. Genocide itself is bigger than Terrorism in international diplomacy.

3- Which products? Pakistan imports anything from Israel? No…Indirect products? Has TLP presented any list of such products to Gov of Pakistan? No……

It clearly means the supporters of this sit inn have not done their home work properly and it is ill thought effort of the uncontrolled power only meant for someone else but not for Gaza.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is no where who convinced Former Senator of Jamat e Islami Mushtaq Ahmad to wrap up his sit inn at D-Chowk that was staged on the side of the road and did not close any thoroughfare. Earlier a suspicious car was sent after midnight that crushed two protestors in that sit inn to death. That is said to be a planned attempt to force the protestors to finish their protest.

That sit inn was also for Gaza. Moreover it was peaceful and was staged at the side of the road , not on the road. But what the establishment did not do to finish it ? Here in Faizabad sit inn , the establishment is totally silent, Why?

Why the same interior minister is not active here as well like he was for D-Chowk? Where is he? Why all the powerful have left millions of citizens of twin cities at the disposal of 500 protestors? Who is responsible for what the citizens are bearing for last 3 days and nights? Why our powerful do not feel any “Ghairat” when few hundred people infiltrate in twin cities and make the life a hell here?

Where are the proud commissioners and deputy commissioner and inspector generals and deputy inspector generals and senior superintendents of police of twin cities?

The state machinery is jam? Unable to deliver? Why they are not responding to the illegal acts of the protestors of TLP? They are paralyzed only because they have instruction from the higher places, definitely.

By the way , no one can understand what our powerful actually want to do? Not only the public but many officials of the state as well question in private meetings ” What they are up to?

They are confused actually and they have confused all actually. On one side they sent a lt gen to run the much trumpeted Special Investment Facility Center (SIFC) at Foreign Office to attract and facilitate foreign direct investment and on the other side they allow few hundred occupants to block the roads in the capital city and they place containers at the main entrance of diplomatic enclave , creating an atmosphere of fear. Who will invest in such state of bad affairs? SIFC should protest on this situation.

I can understand only one thing. And everyone can see this in the same background. As I mentioned the hearing of TLP sit inn of Nov 2017 case. The court is asking one question again and again. “Who was behind that sit inn? The honorable Justices summoned high officials from Military and ISI. But no one appeared nor any one will in the future.

The Justices of SCP passed extremely strict remarks about the officials. What I see, the ongoing sit inn is a response to summoning the officials and passing the remarks against them. They are showing them the muscles that whatever you do , this is what we can do.

Also see it in the context of consecutive relief for PTI in 09 May cases as well as Reserve Seats and other cases related to Imran Khan from the Supreme Court and other courts. Here the government and military both are affected parties. So called One Page. Now here we can understand why the government of Pakistan is silent on the fresh sit inn. Lets see how the Supreme Court takes it now ?

We can see the same one page in the sky rocketing prices of electricity and petroleum as well. Yesterday a father killed his two kids and cut the throat of his wife in Rawalpindi Cant for he found himself unable to feed them after paying the electricity bills. More such incidents are feared in the country because the poor can not make both ends meet.
