ANKARA : Monitoring Desk – It is quite interesting that only a couple of days before Israel officially recognized Armenian deaths in WW1 as Genocide by Turkish forces, the Turkiye was hosting Armenians to discuss how to enhance bilateral cooperation.
During a visit to Ankara, Areg Kochinyan, Chairman of the Armenian Council Analytical Center, and expert Samvel Meliksetyan discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation between Armenia and Turkey with representatives from several leading Turkish think tanks.
According to the analytical center’s press service, the meetings were held with representatives from the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVIM), the Center for Crisis and Policy Studies (ANKASAM), the Ankara Policy Center (APM), and the Turkish Economic Policy Research Foundation (TEPAV).
The discussions focused on the normalization and development of Armenian-Turkish relations. Furthermore, the parties explored opportunities to establish ongoing professional contacts and foster an expert dialogue between the “Armenian Council” and their Turkish counterparts.
Following the visit, the participants reached an agreement to continue and develop their cooperation, maintain regular contact, and collaborate on a joint expert agenda regarding Armenian-Turkish relations.
Turkiye have relations with both states of Armenia and Israel. Turkiye hosts embassy and consulate of Israel in Ankara and Istanbul respectively.
