FIA Pakistan Foils Attempt by Two Afghanis Traveling to Uzbekistan for Russia on Fake Documents

ISLAMABAD : Federal Investigation Agency of Pakistan foiled bid by two Afghanis (a couple ) to travel to Uzbekistan enrout Russia on fake documents.

FIA Immigration Islamabad detained two passengers bound for Russia via an Uzbekistan Airways flight at Islamabad Airport for secondary profiling due to suspicious travel documents.

Detailed scrutiny revealed discrepancies regarding the passengers’ identities and travel documents. Multiple Afghan passports, an Afghan *Tazkira* (national ID document), a Pakistani identity card, and a Russian document were recovered from their possession; notably, photographs of the same individual appeared across various documents, raising suspicions of multiple identities being used.

One Afghan *Tazkira* was issued in the name of the second passenger, while the other documents were being used in an attempt to facilitate illegal immigration. The passengers have been handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further legal proceedings.
